“So perfect for a relaxing Christmas”
Reviewed January 19, 2018 for a stay in December 2017

We couldn't have asked for a better most perfect gite. It's only 4 hours south of Calais so an easy drive and set in beautiful Champagne countryside. The gite was decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree which was a lovely touch and a thoughtful little gift of chocolates. It set the scene for a brilliant stay.
The gite itself is the best equipped gite/cottage we have ever stayed in, there was nothing we needed that wasn't there. The bedrooms were super comfortable and perfect for our needs, three adults. It has an extra floor with twin beds too so comfortably houses 6 people.
A lovely treat was to have drinks with Jean Francois and his family on New Year's Eve, what was meant to be a quick drink turned into a longer stay and we enjoyed their hospitality. The owners are lovely and very easy to deal with in terms of the bookings, great communication.
The village has, I think, 9 champagne houses, which were closed at Christmas, but gave a hint of how this village would come into its own in the summer months. Great value for money, We stayed in the little summer house, which is not little at all in real terms, but also saw the other gite which was beautiful and modern.
Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and we are planning when we can return!

“Great gite in a lovely village.”
Reviewed September 6, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We spent a great week in the gite. The amenities were excellent, especially the lovely kitchen. the master bedroom was beautifully decorated. the second bedroom was fine but could have done with more hanging space for clothes. the owner Jean-Francois and his family were very helpful and friendly making for a very enjoyable stay.

Perfect little house , quirky, comfortable and well equipped . We traveled as 4 adults and 2 children and the private out yard and garden was fantastic for BBQ and drinking champagne . Located wonderfully on the champagne trail with excellent champagne houses offering free tastings and superb varieties at great prices . Landreville is sleepy with no amenities but 6k to Essoyes has what you need. Wonderful house location would visit again . Thank you Jean- Francoise also a perfect host.

“Perfect Relaxing Break”
Reviewed September 20, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

A very well renovated gite with a mix of traditional and modern. Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Nice sun trap garden with garden furniture provided, road in to house was a bit scary first time as very narrow but soon got used to it and was no problem, parking in the drive.

Landreville a very quiet and picturesque village and an excellent base for touring the champagne area with a lot of champagne houses nearby - unfortunately most were closed for tasting/buying when we were there as we arrived as it was 'harvest time' so it was all hands. Still we found Charles Collin Champagne in Essoyes a very short drive from Landreville, open for tasting and buying, very nice it was too!

Short walk through the village takes you to a river , trout fishing and kingfishers spotted , very nice scenery all around.

Troyes is a must visit , the small towns around Landreville aren't as quaint as in other areas of France but Bar sur Seine has a nice main street and some nice eating places.

An area probably a lot of people pass through rather than holiday in but if you are inclined to spend a week tasting Champagne and relaxing this is the Gite to stay in.

“A lovely house in a great location”

We spent a week here in drizzly November and very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. The house is furnished and set out to a very high specification. We had been worried that we might be cold but this was not the case at all. The pellet stove was easy to use and kept the house toasty. The living room was cosy and the kitchen huge! The master bedroom is just beautiful and the bed very comfortable.

The people of Landreville were, without exception, gracious and friendly and patient with our not very good French.

There are several champagne houses in the village but we recommend Veuve Virey, on the Grand Rue, because of their very friendly service and fabulous produce.
