Clean, recently renewed (fantastic bathroom!), with a professional welcome and in a perfect position! Two minor cons: a step in the middle of the room (and it is clear that it not important in terms of effectiveness or style...) and the parking difficult to reach (because of sequence of one ways) and with a small entrance...we stayed one night for 125€ approx (parking excluded)...but I would come back!

We were traveling with our two young grandchildren so we looked at the junior suite prices and a room called the Champagne suite. We opted for the Champagne suite at €310.00 per night.

We off loaded our luggage at a parking space outside of the entrance and went in. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. This room is on the Third floor and the lift only goes to the second. The stairs to the third floor are quite steep and the handrail is rather wobbly. The Receptionist who showed us to our room carried the children's overnight bags, which was helpful.

The room is quite impressive and has a Sitting room, Main Bedroom, an upstairs open Bedroom with a double bed and a good sized Bathroom. The Bathroom has a Shower cubicle, double sinks and a large Spa Bath with hand shower. On the end wall above the bath there is what appears to be a normal mirror but is in in fact a TV. A great idea but the picture quality is rather poor and cannot really be properly seen from an angle. The shower cubicle is somewhat cramped and water leaks out of the door.

The suite is built into the attic space and there is lots of exposed interesting old joinery which supports the roof. Be aware of this in the bathroom as there is a central support that you bang your head on if you don't pay attention. Being built into the roof, the room suffers from high heat gains in the summer and whilst there are two independent Air Conditioning systems they were not capable of quickly cooling the room. The system in the sitting room had reasonable airflow but the one in the main bedroom had extremely low airflow on maximum fan speed. On low fan speed the airflow was non existent. Maybe the air filters need replacing ?

The decor, furnishings and fittings in the room were all to a good standard and we were pleased with things in general. Wifi is fast and free and easy to connect to.

The Hotel does not have it's own Restaurant but offers room service and I believe the food is prepared in an adjacent restaurant. There is the option to eat in the adjacent Restaurant as a doorway from the hotel has been formed to facilitate this. The Restaurant is a noisy Bistro type and offers Pizzas, and meat or fish dishes with chips. Our Grand children loved it, but I hated it!
The food was fine but not exactly gourmet French cuisine.

Breakfast was reasonable priced at €15.90 per adult and the 10 year old was charged at €10.00 and the 6 year old was free. The choice and quality of the food was excellent.

When we parked the car, a staff member kindly offered to accompany me to the Hotel's garage a few blocks away. We parked up and left the Garage via the rear door and walked back to the hotel.
The Hotel and garage are on a one way system so when you go to the garage from the hotel you drive quite a distance around the local streets. The Garage is actually only a short walk against the flow of traffic so we decided to carry our overnight bags to the garage and set off from there. armed with a map provided by the hotel, we started walking to find the garage. After 20 minutes of walking up and down side streets and asking numerous people if they could understand the map we finally found the garage, more by luck than judgement. The code for the door was for digits followed by *. On the keypad there was no star symbol so we scratched our heads and were on the point of phoning the hotel for help when I twigged that we were standing at the rear door that I originally left by. After a short walk to the other side of the block we found the entrance and a key pad with a Star !! May I suggest that the Hotel provides a map with more clear directions?

All in all a pleasant stay, but the few niggles with the room was the Cava in the Champagne.

The room was lovely and baby equipment provided, even baby toiletries! Staff were lovely too! Would stay again! Didn't stay for breakfast as the location meant that there was lots of choice. Gorgeous bakery across the road. Would recommend.

Well appointed and centrally located hotel, with excellent customer service. The hotel and staff were more than accommodating to my 5 & 6 yr old travelling companions.

Good secure parking close to the hotel.

This is an excellently placed gem of a hotel. Facilities are new and clean, staff are attentive and helpful particularly caring for the needs of a 2yo fellow traveller! Parking is secure and roomy - very reassuring and as right in the town centre all the attractions of this beautiful, medieval town are within walking distance(with the exception of the excellent out of town designer outlets). Highly recommended and would return any time.

Each year we stay at La Poste, Troyes for our last night of holiday having spent a couple of weeks in the Rhone Alps. The hotel never lets us down. Its positioned right in the heart of the old part of Troyes and is perfect for a gentle stroll through the bars and street restaurants.
