Cool hotel for a Reims visit. Best location to experience the city. Brasserie Flo is close and the Cathedral is in walking distance. Watch out for parking "Erlon" when you enter the city and you are there. Be aware, there is no night life except the street next to Crystal. Let you explain the pronunciation of Reims at the reception :-) and take "french" breakfast in the street instead of the hotel.

Room Tip: 31 is good, the higher the better, there are restos in smelling distance.

We stayed over night at The Hotel Crystal on the way back from the Alps. The hotel is really charming with traditional features like the glass door lift and lovely courtyard.

Initially the approach from the main high street lures you into thinking you are going to be staying in some hostel round the back of some old restaurants, however once you arrive through the old passage to the courtyard entrance you find a little piece of French magic unveiled.

Yes the hotel isn't the most upmarket in Reims but it is possibly the most charming and friendly.

Worth a shout for an overnight stop.

Room Tip: Go for the rooms on the top floor to see over the old rooftops in Reims

Walls so thin you could hear every snore in next room. As well as people coming and going all night long. Smoking allowed in rooms and seeps into hall and other rooms. Heater not working well.
Parking was very convenient. Right on the main drag for the Christmas Market.

This hotel is really central but suffers from identity as it's accessed via a passageway between two restaurants, I had to speak to a policeman to find it. It has a very pretty courtyard in front and a rather old fashioned feel to the entrance and lobby which is nice. The room I stayed in was on the fourth floor accessed by an old and interesting elevator. The room was well worn and immediately gave the impression that the place had seen better days but the linen and towels were clean and it was functional for a city centre hotel of this type and price. There was a fair amount of noise from extract fans from the adjoining restaurants which meant the window had to be kept shut, which I guess could well be a problem in summer. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good.

We had an upper floor end room (which I believe is larger than some of the rooms). The room is reasonable size with a nice bathroom. The front desk was quite helpful on arrival as we needed to find a gas station and then return our car to Avis, and they assisted us with both activities. We stayed 2 nights and found the location perfect for the city and easy for the short walk to the train station to head to Paris upon departure.

Room Tip: End room was very nice.

You are located right in the city square, and just a few meters from the parking garage with easy access. Also, the rooms are roomy, and the breakfast is refreshing. Also, there is a wonderful little garden in front of the entrance doors. The price was amazing considering the location - you are within walking distance of the cathedral and hundreds of restaurants and retail shopping.

Room Tip: no problems with noise - I think any room would work for people

The location of this hotel is really its best asset; it also has a lovely garden, and the rooms are quiet and clean, although in need of serious updating. New linens would be the perfect starting point (owners take note)! By US standards this would simply be considered motel. If you want to save money, it's not too bad though? Skip the breakfast altogether; there's nothing to it and you can eat better and cheaper across the street. Parking on the street is cheaper too. Be sure to spend plenty of time in the surrounding areas of Reims too. The countryside, outside of Epernay is fantastic and quite simply, breathtaking.
