When walking into the centre of Reims on a Saturday evening with nothing but a few restaurant names on a piece of paper, finding a good place that still has a spot available makes your day. For us this place was L'Alambic. 2 people hadn't turned up and so we were friendly accomodated to the two only free places in the cave.
Good quality-price ratio for both food and wine. Nothing too fancey. Very friendly service made it all worthwhile. When we were paying upstrairs, they even pointed out that if we started walking immediately, we'd still be in time for the (amazing!) light show at the cathedral!
