“Modern but Excellent Champagne”
Reviewed June 8, 2012

We came at the wrong time for a tour (lunch hour) and were not able to stay, but the shop was open. The manger spoke English and was very helpful and polite. He described the different varieties and allowed us to sample some free so we could decide which ones to pick (we took two with us and one is awaiting our 20th aniversary this fall). We hope to go back to this location and take the tour in the future.

“Fascinating real champagne tour”
Reviewed December 6, 2011

This tour is completely different to all the big champagne houses, and much better for it. The building is a former lemonade factory, and the guide freely admitted it wasn't pretty like the fancy houses. However, following a brief video about champagne making we were shown how it's really made now. This included the steel lined concrete tanks (with a taste of the unblended chardonnay), the bottles stored in a cellar in big steel cages, and the riddling machines that clear out the yeast much faster than the old hand process.

The tour was then followed by tastings of 3 different champagnes, including a vintage and a rose, all helped by a very knowlegable guide. Oh, and when we went we were the only 2 guests on the tour. For 10€ it is a much better bet than some of the more commercial tours, and only 5mins walk from the main town centre.
