“Mars gate.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

This is a Roman ruin which is close to the railway station and if walking from the town centre, is on the way to the Museum of Surrender.

“An interesting monument”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

It stands alone as one of the few Roman parts of the town that is left but very little information on the monument itself more information is to be found on the audio tour of the city

“Cool thing of the past, but not cared for by Reims”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

Not that much to see in Reims, you only need one day, so add this to your list, only because you can see something built so long ago. That is cool. Used as cover in WWII probably, it's in a bad shape, not only that, but the surrounding area is wasteland, and the ground at the gate is used for dumping garbage. A real shame that the city doesn't do more with this old thing, even more so, as they list it as one of 10-15 thing one must see. Well, they should check on their tourist attractions.

“Spend 5 minutes reflecting on a different time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2013

If you're heading over to the Salle de la Reddition across the railway tracks, this is on your way. Spend a few minutes musing on the faded carvings on this Roman ruin in the park. Nothing too exciting here, but it's fun to think that you're standing where the Romans stood nearly 2000 years ago.

“Very cool, 15 min”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

Its a Roman gate/triumphal arch. Dates to the 2nd century AD. Pretty typical Roman. Has some cool elements. You can walk under it and photograph it from one side...then the other. Then 15 minutes later, go drink Champagne and think deep thoughts about the Romans in Gaul!
