Attraction details
Owner description: Called the Circuit de Reims-Gueux, this old road racing circuit is situated just outside the pretty village of Gueux, to the west of Reims on the Route Touristique de Champagne. The circuit saw it's heyday in the 50's and 60's with both 12 hour endurance races and 14 Formula 1 Grand Prix's. Indeed it's debut in Formula 1 was during the inaugural World Championship year in 1950. In 1954, Jaguar gained a 1,2,3 in the 12 hour race with a maiden victory for the D Type.

“Atmospheric”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

Although there's not much left here, this old Grand Prix complex is wonderfully atmospheric. You can almost smell the oil and rubber! Races started here in 1929 and ended in 1972 from what i can find out. This circuit no longer exists, but the road from Reims to Gueux is the old start/finish straight with the grandstands and press boxes still standing. It can be found signposted off the E46/N31 Reims to Soissons road, towards Gueux.
Must have been quite a place in it's prime, i could have stayed here taking photo's for hours! A must for all petrolheads...
Currently looked after by a local volunteer organisation that have repainted some of the period signs and adverts.

“If you have any interest in motor sport, this atmospheric place is not to be missed”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Only part of the old Grand Prix circuit remains, but if you have any interest in motor sport, this atmospheric place is well worth a visit . The pits and grandstand are still there and are being sympathetically restored by Les Amis du Circuit de Gueux (a non-profit organisation working to preserve traces of the circuit). The long straight itself is now part of the main road, meaning that the urge to open the throttle and see just how fast your pride & joy will go needs to be resisted! If you walk round the back of the pits and through the underpass you can climb up into the old grandstand and get a feel for the magnificent view a spectator would have had. The traffic can be heavy on a weekday with a lot of lorries; it seems to be quieter at the weekend and those moments when there is a lull in the traffic and silence descends are when you can really feel the ghosts here. Not to be missed.

“Easy to find and visit”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

My husband is the car buff and he found it interesting. Recently redecorated it does give a good indication of race conditions years ago but there isn't a lot to see other than old disused buildings.

“A fabulous relic.”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

If you have even an ounce of petrol in your vains, this place will give you goose bumps. To just stand there, looking at the dilapidated pits and grandstands, thinking about the great drivers that have roared by, is something very special indeed.

“Great pit stop”
Reviewed May 14, 2012 via mobile

Good little spot to take some pictures if your interested in cars/racing. We stopped off on our way from Calais down to Monaco. Bumped into some other guys who were also showing off their cars on the old pit lane.
