“Eye Opening tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

Took the 11am tour , a group of 10 of so a good size, tour took just under 90 minutes and given we both love Champagne this tour really opened our eyes to the initial way this brand was started to how Champagne is made. So many myths were buried during the tour and a big highlight was descending into the "Crayeres" to see the stored bottles and to feel the chalk walls. Our host was pleasant and informative and clearly loves working at this house. We finished off tasting the Grand Dame 2004 vintage - perfection.

“the best visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

the best visit, best champagne. It is worth to buy the most expensive tour since you get to taste more champagne and great cheese. Another good visit is in Epernay, to Moet Chandon - get the Dom Perignon tour.

“Ok Tour”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

This is the coca-cola of champagnes. The tour group is big and it makes it, at times, difficult to hear the guide. The tasting is ok, but nothing spectacular. I have had Veuve Clicquot Champagne previously, so nothing enlightening in tasting their flagship champagne. I had always thought Veuve Clicquot was a pretty good champagne, but after tasting it in the same day as some lesser known champagnes I have realized they are just the coca-cola of champagnes.

“A really good Champagne house to choose a tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2012

We did the tour that includes 4 vintage Champagnes & cheese & it was brilliant. Absolutely loved it & went a little mad in the shop afterwards. So maybe leave the wallet behind. Worth doing though.

“Behind the scenes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

Thanks to a family connection dating from the 1950's, we we given a private tour of the museum and cellars, and a taste of the 'Grande Dame' afterwards.. a special treat. Worth doing a tour if you are in Rheims, but booking essential, Tues. to Sat. only. Lunch before or afterwards at Le Jardin, only 100 metres away, for a day to remember (see separate review).
