“One of the best Hotel experiences ever”

My husband and I and 2 friends travelled to Reims for a 50th birthday surprise. Having stayed in many of the worlds top hotels and not to brag) but simply to add some perspective on my opinion, I can honestly say this hotel is without doubt in a league of its own. Elegant and sophisticated, a real gem in Reims, unbelievable grounds considering its proximity to the centre of town. We were fortunate on our stay to meet the general manager Herve a truly delightful man. On this evening the restaurant was being reviewed by a food critique. Herve invited us to try additional food from the extensive menu where his head sommelier treated us to an exquisite bottle of Port. The staff were attentive and truly looked after our ever need. The breakfasts alone are worth a special mention, never has breakfast been presented so beautifully. Many places rely on style over substance and thankfully this is not one of them! We will return.

Room Tip: Do not miss out on breakfast!

I have been wanting to stay here for many years; we finally found a mutually available time during our last trip to France. This is a large estate adjacent to a number of the large Champagne Houses of Reims, and in every sense, a great chateau.

We stayed in a Suite overlooking the expansive lawn and putting green. It was a "period" room, all done up in red upholstery and curtains, with a view of downtown Reims and the Abbey. We paid the full price of 640 Euros, but it was an experience I would not have missed.

Our dinner in Le Parc, their Michelin starred restaurant was fabulous, with exquisitely prepared dishes, brought in with great service and panache.

The breakfast the next morning was like I have never had before - beautifully prepared, three different types of yoghurt, multiple scones, jams, and eggs in any way you want. My description beggars the actual presentation.

We had reservations for one of the Champagne Houses for a tour after that. I certainly would go back, in spite of the expense.

Les Crayeres is a magnificent chateau in magnificent grounds. We had a top floor suite with views of the park like surroundings and huge sun filled terrace. It is a lovely blend of fabulous food in the chateau and more casual dining in the seperate bistro area....we ate on that terrace as it was summer but we have eaten there inside in winter and it was very cosy. The team looked after our every need even getting our car rental company to come and fix an issue with our vehicle. And it is within easy walking distance of some if the grand champagne houses. There is agreat bar for pre or post dinner drinks, a breakfast terrace all with garden views.

Room Tip: Our concept at our age (60's) is enjoy the best now....so we booked the best suite and were very...

The 4 course set menu at Le Jardin was by far the most enjoyable meal we had in Champagne. Much better in my opinion than the more highly rated restaurants in the region which we also tried.

Excellent service in a casual setting with great views of the magnificent garden. Our disappointment at not being able to dine at the main restaurant Le Parc since its is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays turned into joy and surprise.

Simply put, this is the best urban hotel I've ever encountered. A grand chateau located 10 minutes from city center, Les Crayeres is the ultimate urban oasis. The beautiful building is set on a glorious park, features rooms fit for royalty, formal (but friendly) service, a GREAT restaurant (plus a beautiful looking bistro we didn't get to try)....What more could you ask for?

The gourmet restaurant served us perhaps our best meal of our visit to France and the wine service is really special - an expansive, well chosen, and fairly priced list with an absurd selection of grower champagne replete with expert guidance from the somms.

Bottom line: I'd live in this hotel if I could.

For any of the reviewers who found fault with this amazing chateau, they must not have stayed at the same place we did. This chateau was incredible. The grounds were beautiful and serene and a nice break from the hassles of Paris. The building was amazing and we had a fantastic room, which was their base room, although it was not cheap. The staff and service were absolutely impeccable. They did everything for us and more, always with a smile. Breakfast was amazing. More impressive was dinner at Les Jardin, their second restaurant. It may have been the best meal i have ever had, and that is saying a lot. The food was unbelievable. I would highly recommend this hotel for a get away to relax and enjoy.

Room Tip: Any room should be good.

First, you must go online and check out the hotel website--seeing a picture is the only way for you to get the context of this review. THe grounds and the chateau are wonderful, really park-like. The location is perfect for exploring Reims, and yet you are less than two hours from Paris. The staff is uniformly amzing, although some spoke English well--and others not well. That being said, we were always able to be understood. The restaurant is, I believe, 2 Michelin stars--and it is terrific without being over the top. The brassierie is a welcome respite from the heavier meals, and both dining options benefit from well chosen and well-priced winelists. The only complaint that I have, and it is a minor one, is that the staff could have dine more to eductae us about local attraction and events. I had to ask about Bastille Day events and the local weekend market--rather than having the staff affirmatively suggest something (even by way of a printed sheet of suggested activties at turndown, for example).
