Stayed here two nights this 11-12 Nov, had to pay to park in the open car park near the hotel (would have felt safer if it was a more private garage) and there was no room service for food because they said there wasn't enough staff to manage that. We ended work past midnight and the only restaurant that was open was a kebab place about 5 minutes away, but thankfully we managed to grab some grub.
There were some squatters just outside the hotel, living in a tent the whole time they were there, and they'd pee outside. The smell hits you when you walk out of the hotel and turn out to the city centre, so that's kinda gross. But it's a relatively safe place and I never felt uneasy at any time.
Hotel staff were quite helpful after they've warmed up to you (try to speak some French!), and what's nice about this place is its convenient location. It's mere minutes away by walking to Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims. Entry is free and I spent over an hour marveling at this beautiful UNESCO world heritage site known for its iconic smiling angel and Marc Chagall stained glass windows!More
