A place with a history and interesting decor. We enjoyed our plats du jour (pork and chicken) and delicious puddings. Friendly service, nice atmosphere - recommended.

“Interesting ambience but ...”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

We went on a busy night but staff were very pleasant and found us a table at the front window - great view but very bright! The location is great, decore was interesting, staff were great, and food arrived quickly. The dishes, however, were nothing to get excited about - firstly, not much to choose from - I had the duck confit - looked very unappealing with alot of fat/skin, and tasted too salty and dry. Partner had the tag with snails, tasted OK, but also looked a little dry, same with the tag with salmon. I would recommend going there for an afternoon drink .... sipping champers and watching the passers-by ... lovely !

“Eclectic art and history”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

Unfortunately, we only had hot drinks in the Cafe du Palais. We planned to return for lunch or dinner, but it was closed and we had to leave Reims before it reopened on Tuesday. The Cafe is filled with art, an eclectic collection, to say the least, that reflects the cafe's 80-plus-year history as a family business in Reims. On a back wall is a mural of a drag show, a sculpture of a bare-chested woman with animal horns sprouting from her head is placed by a table, etc., etc. It is our loss that we did not make it back to enjoy this place at leisure.

“Great french food and great service”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

this was such a great restaurant, very french - excellent quality. Can recommend, the duck and the Veal special. The salad mains are huge and very tasty, especially the seafood and scallop salad - definitely worth a visit while in Reims.

“Sip a glass of champagne”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Le Cafe du Palais is one of the place to pick if you want to sip a glass of Champagne in the heart of the city! Enjoy sitting outside in the summer and watch people passing by while you drink the bubbles!
