Stayed one night at the Hotel Azur, in Room 17. The hotel seemed recently remodeled and well kept. It was a nice mix of old and contemporary. There is no elevator. Our room was a deep purple, with fabric padded walls. Very attractive and clean. The bathroom was tight but it worked. The sink had a beautiful marble top. The shower was roomy for Europe and had a shower head that lit up and turned colors as you used it. Wild. Wonderfully firm beds. The deck clerk was very nice and helpful, with broken English. They do have breakfast, for a charge. We ate out. The location is great, but finding it is tricky. It's on a side street, which does make it very quiet. Would definitely stay there again. Don't forget to visit the cathedral at night; the lighting is spectacular!

The stay there was great. The rooms are wide and comfortable (and the heating works great, which is important in the winter days).
The staff is perfect, very caring and nice. Which leads me to compliment the lovely breakfast.
If you pay for a parking space, you'll get a garage spot that locks- a treat to hide your Mercedes away ;)
The only down side that bothered me, was that the wifi didn't work at all, only for a second a day, and loaded only light pages, so i couldn't check my mails for two days...

Driving from the West of England to Northern Italy in mid-October, this was the first of our two overnight stops. Found on TripAdvisor and did not disappoint. Our satnav/GPS was a little wobbly, but we eventually found the tiny street and hotel. Luckily, it was a Sunday, so we were able to get on street parking a couple of streets away for free. I had not realised that we could not check in until 5:00 (because it was Sunday), but we were close to the main sights including the magnificent cathedral, so our extra hours were not wasted.

Very easy and friendly check-in and we had a room on the second floor. Small, but simply decorated in a fairly sophisticated manner - hessian and linen style. Comfortable bed with decent linens and OK pillows. Two bedside lamps and little side tables - always good. Small, but more than adequate bathroom. Very good over the bath shower, although nowhere to put soap, shampoo etc. Very clean and reasonable quality towels. Free wi-fi available in the room but I'm not sure what channels the TV provided.

We wanted to leave very early in the morning, so did not have the extra breakfast offered.

Would definitely stay here again, although would try to time our visit better - not many good dining choices on Sundays and Mondays, although our somewhat touristy dinner in the main square was pretty decent.

What a charming establishment nestled on a quiet street. Rooms are super clean and comfortable, not a lot of frills, but everything you need to call Old Reims home while visiting. The owners will take VERY good care of you, and ensure your stay is as productive and comfortable as possible. There is always the language barrier, and what seems as "French behavior" but they go out of their way to understand and help and make wonderful recommendations. The petite dejeuner, lovingly set up by the wife in the husband - wife team, is WONDERFUL. For 8 euros (paid extra), she sets up a wonderful spread with fruit, yogurt, petite pastries, beverage, cold cereals. Hard working people, the value of the stay outweighs the price tag. The establishment is full of whimsical pieces in particular the clock wall and the ode to the history of the family. It is a refurbished 1920's building that barely survived a war that still has its scabs scattered around the city, and the steps are funky so be careful (there is no elevator). It is no frills, all heart and soul, lovingly tended, and simply a charming place to stay, run by very charming and hard working proud of their craft and it shows, people.

Room Tip: THEY DONT HAVE A POOL! :-) Be careful on the steps, theyre funky (odd sized)

We stayed here for 2 nights...had to tweak our original reservation a bit a week before our trip and they were very helpful in arranging the change. Rooms were small but immaculate - and there was a little storage area in the rooms "foyer" which helped. I have a problem with stairs so we were given a room on the first floor near the breakfast room - not as noisy as I'd first thought it might be.

Breakfast was excellent - good coffee, croissants, breads. It was too cold for the patio when we were there but it looked lovely.

The hotel is run by a very cheerful, friendly couple. We have minimal French and they had mimimal English but we got by. They made a few restaurant suggestions and were quite helpful with directions.

The street was quiet and a close walk to lots of places of interest. Reims is a very walkable city, especially from this location. Parking was a quick walk away - a bit hard to find the first time but very convenient.

This hotel was an excellent value - just what we hoped for. I'd stay again.

Room Tip: There is no lift so if you have lots of luggage or problems with stairs consider that when booking.

What a great little hotel - it is compact, bijou, boutique and completely charming! When we stayed there were 4 French couples, two French Canadians and just us flying the flag for Blighty! Hotel Azur could not be more French if it tried - with the exception (if you'll pardon the stereotype) of the shower which was excellent, roomy, powerful and hot with great towels supplied! The room we stayed in was on the second floor, was spotlessly clean and a design classic; delightful witty wallpaper (yes, there is such a thing!) whose patterns were echoed on the furniture tops under glass, very stylish, with a tiny Juliet balcony and an awning overlooking a tiny, very quiet cobbled street - all desperately chic!

Breakfast was delicious, hot coffee, as much as you wished, good quality yoghurt and an excellent range of fresh fruit along with speciality breads, croissant, butter, jams and compote.

The only issue we had was that the street itself is so tiny it didn't show up on our satnav (Tomtom or Garmin) until we were right on top of it (or past it the way my other half drives!) which is hardly the hotel's responsibility! If you are lucky there is space for two cars outside in the narrow cobbled street but it's just as quick (and cheap too) to park in the Hotel De Ville which is about 4 minutes strolling walk away, so drop your luggage and then park and come back!

The reception staff didn't speak much English but then I don't speak much French! When they communicated by email (in English) before my arrival it was just fine and they were charming and patient while we worked out what each of us was saying when we checked in!

If you like large, generic, sterile hotels with lifts then Hotel Azur is not for you but if you treasure the notion of discovering a lovely, little, romantic, quiet and secluded hideaway less than five minutes walk from the centre of Reims then book here!!

Room Tip: I did see in the Premiere rooms on the first floor when we left and although they are moer spacious...
