We stayed in this hotel for four days, having travelled with friends. Our rooms were ready on our arrival at 11.30am. The deluxe rooms were spacious, well decorated with excellent furnishings and furniture of the period that would have been instantly recognisable by Eugene Mercier, the founder of Champagne Mercier, and the former owner of the house.

The bathroom was spacious with an excellent walk in shower and a bath that would happily take two adults. The standard of the bathroom extras such as soap, shampoo and conditioner was good.

Breakfast for 17 euros per person was good value because of the significant choice of food, all well presented, fresh and plentiful. I've stayed in lesser hotels that charged more for significantly less choice lower quality at breakfast.

The staff are courteous, helpful and will organise bookings at local restaurants for the guests, as the hotel has no restaurant.

There is ample car parking at the hotel, the gardens are well kept and the pool was warm, allowing us to swim before breakfast.

The beauty of this hotel is the proximity, via a gentle walk down the Avenue de Champagne, to the town centre. Everything is therefore within easy walking distance.

We were sad to leave this excellent hotel. Having stayed at the Royal Champagne only last September, there is absolutely no comparison between these two four star hotels. This hotel is by far the better. The Royal Champagne has let standards slip since it was taken over. This hotel is etting the pace in Epernay.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms at deluxe level or above will impress and please.

We stayed in Villa Eugene for a few days whilst touring champagne and would thoroughly recommend it. We arrived after midnight, but had let the hotel know and security checked us in. Our room was beautiful, very large and nicely furnished in with elegant French furniture, the bathroom was enormous. The bed was very comfortable. A small balcony off the room was a nice place to sit and read. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was served in a beautiful orangery next to the outdoor pool and was an impressive spread of cheese, meats, breads and pastries. Omelettes etc. were also available. Gorgeous coffee. The bar is a nice place for pre dinner drinks. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk of the centre of Epernay, next door to Mercier. The only downsides were the lack of restaurant in the hotel and the price, which I though was high for the class of hotel. I would probably pay it again though as it was a lovely place to stay. Will be better in summer when the pool can be used.

This hotel close to the centre of Epernay, at the end of the Champagne avenus is well situated. The rooms are very nice and with good taste. Every room another interior which makes it feel good. Not the big hotel impression of no personality. The reception although could be better. As we arrived to soon, but all previous guests were gone but, not as anywhere else, we couldn't take our romm berfore the official time. We asked to eat at the hotel, the receptionist told us, no restaurant. Afterwards in the room we found a menu.

Room Tip: depends if you want a bath or a shower, but we had 3 rooms and they all were very nice.

This hotel is very pleasent, our room was a lot smaller than our friends we were travelling with and right next to the lift but no problem, pool was closed 1st week in april, this area needs some attention before opening with loose decking visible from the breakfast room. Breakfast was average and expensive, buffet style so make the most of it . The breakfast room itself is very elegant and the staff very good . The 10 minute walk into town is an easy stroll, walking back from town in the evening is quite spectacular with all the avenue lit up showing off the champagne houses in all their splendour. Would stay there again.

We only stayed here one night after a tour of Moet et Chandon, but loved the location and the generous sized room and bathroom. Would stay here again if ever in the area.

I spent here just one night, but it was enough to feel cozy and nice atmosphere in Villa Eugene. My room was spacy, decorated in typical French style and very clean.
Breakfast was superb with homemade yogurt, jam, fresh pastries and nice view to the garden.

Hotel is out of central part of city, but easy reachable on foot by Avenue de Champagne.

Located right next door to Mercier and just under a mile from the town centre, which is a nice walk along the Ave de Champagne past several other Champagne Houses - or a taxi ride!

The hotel is very elegantly decorated, the staff very welcoming and helpful. We had a superior room that was very spacious and had the bonus of a small patio area - the nightly turn down service that included a typed weather forecast for the following day, was a nice touch.

As other reviewers have said, the breakfast room is very nice - although we chose to sample breakfast elsewhere each day so cannot comment on the breakfast itself.

All in all a very nice break - we would certainly stay there again it's a great centre from which to explore.
