I first visited Parva Domus last year, when I'd been let down by a hotel in Epernay. I was thrilled then, and my friends and I had a marvellous stay Chez Rimaire!

Since then I've holidayed back and forth again and again and have now stayed at Parva Domus 4 times, and it just keeps getting better. This time around, with my Fiance, we had another magical stay. It was the first time we'd been in the region during the harvest and it was fascinating to watch. La Cave a Champagne was as good as always for dinner too.

This time I even booked via email - try it on rimaire@wanadoo.fr - though I still called to check in and choose a room +33 326324074 or +33 613991257. Jeanette and Claude are magnificent hosts, and accomodate every need as best they can. The location is to die for, and being able to park the champagne-laden car in their garage is a super bonus. I've stayed in 4 different rooms including the suite, all are equally comfortable with great beds and well thought out bathrooms.

I recommend this little treasure to anyone after a special break. Check their website [--] which is in English and French!

Have a good time.

This bed and breakfast was an excellent value. The location was perfect for walking to the champagne cellars. The host and hostess were so warm and helpful they felt like family. We had no problems even with our very limited French vocabulary. The room was immaculate and the breakfast was extremely good. This was a memorable place and we hope we can go back someday soon.

Like living as part of a typical French family in the heart of the Avenue de Champagne. The owners are a delightful aged French couple who put love and warmth into their little B&B.

No email, no internet, no lifts, no air-conditioning, no credit cards (payment has to be cash) and only five bedrooms, but a genuine French experience.

M. et Mme Rimaire even make a point of waving to departing customers as they drive away, as if waving to members of their own family.

A lovely experience and an absolute bargain.

Although I'm posting months later than when we were actually there, we had a wonderful time this past spring at Parva Domus. Claude and Jeannette were absolutely wonderful hosts -- they took pains to ensure their (non-French and French) speaking guests were well taken care of...

The rooms were very clean and the breakfasts lovely. M and Mme Rimaire shared lots of good advice for places to visit and people to meet. We enjoyed our visit there so much that we returned for an extra night before we made our way back to Paris.

The location was fantastic - we were steps away from many of the major Champagne houses including Bellefon, Perriet-Jouet, Moet et Chandon, Mercier, Hiedsieck and more. Additionally, they were a short stroll from the centre of town to all the restaurants and bars. We will definitely be back to see them on our next visit!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the wonderful B&B - Parva Momvs, Magne Ovies which translates as small house, great peace. We stayed in La Jaune room (yellow room) on the second floor, it overlooked the garden and had 2 single beds and a half bath with shower at the taps.

Mr and Mrs Rimaire are delightful, very friendly and hospitable, as previous posts have mentioned they only speak french but it doesn't matter, a little attempt at french and some sign language and communication is fine. They greeted us at the door on arrival, waved us off on every depature and were there to greet us on return! They are wonderful people.

Breakfast is excellent, continental style, served around a large dining table, with a choice of fresh croissants, french bread, cereals, meats, cheeses, jams, apples, yogurts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water.

There is car parking in front of the B&B, there are gates which are locked around 10pm, but you are given a key to open a door in one of the gates which enables you to open the gates fully to park your car for the night if you arrive back late.

Moet and Chandon give tours and tastings and they are across the road, we did the Mercier tour with a 3 champagne tasting and a tour of the cellars on a train and it was great. It is only a couple of minutes walk into town, we had a fantastic meal in Le Theatre restaurant

A couple of minor points to consider:
All the bedrooms and the stairs have just floorboards, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Our pillows were small and flat so bring your own pillow if arriving by car or learn the french for have you got another pillow please!

They now have a website (type parvadomusrimaire in a search engine) and it will bring it up, I booked online with no problems.

Highly recommended.

After reading the reviews we booked 'Parva Domus' we were not disappointed. On arrival Jeanette & Claude Rimaire came out to meet us. After a quick unpack we were invited down to the terrace. With the offer of Beer, Wine, or Champagne we settled down to a glass of Bubbly. Take a phrase book as they do not speak English apart from the odd word. However we soon felt like old friends. Yes OK there are curtains across the bathroom but the B&B is very clean and homely. Above all else its ideally placed and you can walk to everything and leave the car parked. Book a table at the 'Tristan' great food. Avoid the Bar/Brasserie Progress, at the Place Des Martyrs De La Resistance, poor service and over priced wine. Email: rimaire@wanadoo.fr
