Nice hotel with clean and nice rooms. Each different room has a different style. Very helpful and serviceminded staff! Parking in walled in area. Pretty good location with a few minute walking distance to the central area of Epernay.

Really hard to be subjective about reviewing this hotel, feel it is one of those places you will either love or dislike. No half measures. It is easy to locate and we had a very pleasant welcome from the lady on reception.

Located slightly on the edge of Epernay, the parking is within the grounds of the house with electric gates which are closed at night. So secure parking, which unusually is free, is a real bonus. The walk into the town is only about 10 minutes, and there is plenty of choice of restaurants the town.

I personally completely agree with a previous reviewer who said it was more of a b&b than a hotel. There is no lift, which could be a serious problem if you were not aware of this and also be aware there are steps up to the front door; there is no bar or any other leisure facilities one would normally associate with a hotel. It seems to be like a lovely old house that has been converted to accommodate guests.

The decor generally is ok if seemingly put together rather than having any theme, but the bedroom we had on the top floor was small, tired and dull. The shower room was adequate. Everything was spotlessly clean, and maybe because we were on the top floor we had no noise issues as other people have reported. In fact it was very peaceful.

We paid €115 and feel this is really at the top end for the accommodation provided. This price does not include breakfast which at €15 per person we declined.

We stayed at this hotel following a recommendation. We only stayed one night. It's a traditional French building and the interior decor is nice. The absence of any substantial floor coverings does however mean that you can hear everything going on within the building.

The smell of freshly baked pastries was a wonderful wake up call. The parking is secure and the location in Epernay means you are a short walk to the town centre but away from much noise (apart from that in the building).

On the downside the bathroom fittings are quite dated and the main bathroom had obviously been fitted around existing fittings.

It was a nice stay but the price was the one sticking point. It's on the pricey side and mainly due to this I'd be willing to try other places in the vicinity.

If you want French charm and living this is it. Put aside that you can hear most things and the shower just about wets the whole bathroom and you have a typical French experience. The locations is great, easy walking and Moët is right behind the hotel. The breakfast was outstanding with attentive staff.

I booked this lovely hotel because it was mentioned in one of the Alistair Sawday books, and we wanted to make Epernay the first of several stops as we meandered down to the south. Epernay is ok. In retrospect I would have preferred somewhere else as it was quite dead in the evenings. However the hotel was charming, a beautiful Renaissance building, the interior a mix of rustic, with a nod to the art deco period. It's a little tired, but that kind of makes it, in a strange sort of way. The breakfast was extra which in my opinion should have been included in the room price, however, travelling through France I am coming to realise this is quite common. it's in quite a good spot for walking into The town, although we had my elderly mum with us so we chose to drive the short distance instead as she would have struggled. The streets are so quiet at night that I'm glad we did drive as I would have been a little spooked walking back to the hotel at night. Dinner is not offered at the hotel so you have to go out. We had a couple of mediocre meals, which I will review separately, but Mdme Woda the owner did recommend a restaurant, that we didn't get to try unfortunately. All in all a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: We had Toscane which was a very nice size room. There is no air conditioning, but this would only be...

I decided to stay here as the reviews suggested a little more than what we got.

Staff very friendly, and helpful, they could be less helpful, if you have no French.

There is no restaurant or bar

Room was large but in serious need of a refurbishment, the double be was in fact two singles pushed together and not secured, that was fun!

Shower room was in need of a deep clean.

Breakfast was excellent however, the acid test is always would I go back in this case no.

It was over priced to boot, I paid nearly 200 euros

Room Tip: Pray and hope

We had a good sized room in this fine old building. Good breakfast ,& secure on site parking, only a 5 minute walk to the centre of town & champagne houses. Helpful owner & efficient staff made for a pleasant stay. My only problem was the usual hand shower over bath with no screen.
Epernay is a good first stop from Paris & you should enjoy 2 or 3 nights here.
