“Moet vs Taittinger”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

We took the tour of the Moet cellars on a hot sunny day on a road trip back from Paris.

A few years earlier I was invited to a business/private tour in Taittinger's cellars and this was at the back of my mind during this tour. In the Moet tour you get to see the cellars and the tour guide explains how Champagne is treated to get as good as it possible can. They explain the process and the difference with Dom Perignon. They tell you about the history of the firm etc. I was all very interesting and good, but obviously more commercial than the private Taittinger tour - there we also got to see how the corks get in to the bottle and much more. I don't know what kind of tours Taittinger offers today, but either way, this tour by Moet is very good although less private.

Just as some other guests have said, do book in advance in order to avoid disappointment. When booking you should also decide on how many glasses of champagne you'd like to try after finishing the tour. Enjoy!

“Impressive tunnels”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

I wish they let you taste more champage. 40 euros just gets you 2 drinks. I can't complain about the grounds. Impressive is the lounge that napoleon use to drink in and the extensive tunnels. Please do a better job of cleaning the bathrooms...smelly

“Fun tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

The tour is fun, down in the cold caves, seeing hundreds of thousands of bottles of Moet and even some Dom Perignon. It is less than an hour long and you finish up with a (quick) glass of champagne.

“Beautiful interior and exterior”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

Moet has a very high end vibe. We went during off season and the tours were still sold out for the day. Definitely buy your ticket in advance, i read this in reviews before our trip and I didn't listen. We still were able to visit the gift shop and it was beautifully laid out. Left with a bottle of rose Moet!

“Moet & Chandon - History unfolding before your eyes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

What a fine place. I remembering having a glass of Moet whilst on the Great Wall in China in Oct 2006 when a resident of Epernay came along and said they lived there. So we gave them a glass as well. Now almost 8 years later - I managed to visit their town East of Paris in the Champagne Region. The tour was well worth it and like Mumm a glass of fine champers at the end went down well.
