“If you only have time for one Champagne house, make it this one!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

The tour at the Mercier Champagne House is quite unique! It includes an audio 'tour' in the reception with many interesting historic stories, and a 'train' ride through the underground cellars / caves. Very informative, lots of fun, and of course the tasting at the end was great!

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

Unbelievable exposure to a "cave". Enjoyed the experience and to see the massive quantities of champagne housed was amazing.
The commentary, aboard the train was a little difficult to understand at times but the magnitude of the whole process was eye-opening.
The tasting, at the end of the tour was pleasant. Of course, you do have to pay for the privilege of doing so. Not an issue if this may be your only chance to do so.

“Superb, friendly visit. A must when visiting Epernay”

Loved the train ride in the cellars and the polite, friendly staff.
A bit pricey, but then again, we're talking about Champagne...

“Most enjoyable tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Mercier champagne is by no means the nicest, in fact I am not very keen. However the Mercier tour was recommended by our B&B owner and with good reason. The tour begins with a wander around the displays in the reception area of the building, located around the unmissable barrel. The tour then moves downstairs to the cellars, around which you are transported on a robotically controlled train. Other champagne houses do have larger cellars but because Mercier's are all on the one floor being transported around on the train makes this the most enjoyable to visit.

“Total theatre, loved it!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

Very busy so had to queue for quite a while but well worth it as this was by far the best champagne tour in town. Even the lift down to the caves is an experience; top tip, try to get in the lift first to get as close as possible to the glass window.....I won't spoil the surprise!!
Once In the caves there is a little train to trundle you round and individual audio commentary in your language of choice. Brilliant . 16 euros also included two coupes.
