Found this room based upon Tripadvisor reviews. The suite (Les Jol.) we stayed in was huge. The price was similar to our much smaller rooms throughout our trip. The rooms are on the 2nd floor next to their tasting room. When we arrived, we had a free bottle of their great Champagne. Breakfast is continental and is provided on a table outside of your room. You can eat whenever you wake up. Nothing special but a good start to the day. The location is great. It is within walking distance to all the Champagne houses on Avenue de Champagne, including Moet and Mercier. Free internet and large comfortable bed. Car parking is within their locked gates - they give you a gate opener. Be sure to arrive before 6 pm or call them.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in Andre Bergere Champagne House. The accommodation is just so civilised and furnishings of the highest quality and beautiful to look at. Our little Westie was also welcome. Max was exceptionally helpful particularly with restaurant reservations. I would love to go back.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! We are currently staying here and the rooms are clean the service is flawless and the champagne made by the house is sublime! I highly recommend it! Max provided us with a list of places to eat and to find pastries and cheese and we were not at all disappointed.

We stayed for our second time in April 2013, having previously visited in October 2012.

We were pleased to find everything was still just as good as before. Once again we booked the Gite "Les Riches Roses" as we find this perfect for our needs as it allows us to be self-sufficient; especially as we can grab breakfast on the go, en route to our first tasting session of the day and sometimes do not return until 7:30pm after our final tasting of the day.

We find this to be such a great base for us as it is conveniently located for all of the main Champagne vineyard regions. It also occupies a great spot on the plush Avenue de Champagne which is the icing on the cake. The ample secure parking is an added bonus.

We will be back for our third visit in September!

My husband booked this beautiful Champagne House as a surprise as part of our stay in the Champagne and Chablis regions for our wedding anniversary. All I can say was it was fantastic and driving into Andre Bergere I felt very spoilt. This Champagne House is located on Rue de Champagne in Épernay, sharing its location with the likes of Moët & Chandon and Perrier-Jouët as well as other smaller champagne houses. It was a fantastic location to be able to enjoy visiting the various caves and champagne houses and being able to indulge in the champagne tasting without the worry of having to drive. The Andre Bergere Champagne House has a car park for staying guests and for those visiting, which is gated at night and can only be accessed with an electronic fob that is given to you on arrival.

The room we stayed in was a lovely sized apartment for two, complete with its own kitchen, sitting area, bedroom and en-suite bathroom. There was no bath (which wasn't a problem for us) but did have the most amazing walk in shower. We did not have breakfast as part of our stay choosing instead to go for a morning stroll and buy fresh pain au chocolat and bread from the nearby boulangerie.

To top off our lovely stay the Andre Bergere champagne is fantastic and found a delicious rose too! Andre Bergere do not export their champagne out of France and therefore to try their champagne is a real treat. I would recommend buying a couple of bottles to take home.

For this year’s trip we based ourselves in Épernay at Champagne André Bergère: 40, Avenue de Champagne. This location is not where the Champagne house is based, this part of the operation being in Fèrebrianges. They do however have a shop stocked full of Champagne mementoes and complete with tasting area.

Several years ago, the premises lay derelict and were purchased from the next-door neighbour: Pol Roger. It would appear that the entire length of the Avenue de Champagne has or in some cases still is undergoing a massive renovation or spruce-up project. Every building seems to have been restored to its former glory as Épernay tries to achieve UNESCO status. It is now a beautiful street and has certainly become the Champs-Élysées of Champagne.

The buildings at Champagne André Bergère are beautifully renovated in the typical French style. As you enter the grand iron gates, the office and part of the bed and breakfast lodgings are located in the building to the right whilst the shop is on the left. The two suites are located on the upper floor of this building. To the end of the courtyard is further bed and breakfast lodging. The courtyard is very smart with tasting tables for when you visit in good weather.

We stayed in Suite ‘Les Riches Roses’, situated at the rear of the left hand building (further away from the main road). The suite comprises of a large sitting/dining area with small kitchenette. This includes a large refrigerator, small hob, microwave and Nespresso machine (although capsules are provided with breakfast it is advisable to take your own as is milk, sugar etc). There is plenty of crockery and glassware to ensure you can be completely self-sufficient if you wish.

Through to the bedroom the toilet is separate to the en-suite which has a very nice “rain” shower. The windows all open wide to give nice views of the courtyard. The room was cold when we arrived but was toasty in no time thanks to the efficient heating/air conditioning system. The bed was a little hard for our taste but that is just a minor note.

If I could add one thing it would be a small safe just for peace of mind.

The suite is still feeling fresh (now about 2 years old) and is nicely decorated and appointed. In such nice surroundings , we felt very privileged each time we drove or walked through the gates.

The gates are closed outside of the shop opening times (so secure night time parking) but guests are furnished with a key fob to activate the automated gates on the side road. This road is one way so if returning by car out of hours, the easiest route is to take the turning next to Moët et Chandon at the bottom end of the Avenue de Champagne, then the first left. Take this road all the way to the end and turn left again. It is in this is the road where the side entrance to Champagne André Bergère is located (on the right).

We opted to take the breakfast which the website advertises as €12 per person although we were quoted in our booking correspondence at €8 per person. Upon departure, this had risen to €10 per person which was a little disappointing. Breakfast is sufficient, a small baguette with pastries and conserves, juice and fruit purée. Occasionally ham and cheese made an appearance too. We were offered a glass of Champagne each on our departure day which was a nice touch but with a long drive back to the UK would perhaps have been better offered on our first morning.

We used Champagne André Bergère as our base to further explore the villages of the Montagne de Reims and Vallé de la Marne. It is just as easy to access the Côte des Blancs as Épernay is perfectly situated for all three. Within 5 minutes you can be in the vineyards.

If you wish to take a day in Épernay alone, tasting is available at Moët et Chandon (turn left out of the gates), Boizel, Paul-Etienne Saint Germain, Esterlin, De Castellane and Mercier (turn right).

To review the Champagne produced by André Bergère, their cuvées are very pleasant but lacking that extra bit of oomph to make them stand out in our opinion.

We enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider staying here on further trips.

Similar to the other reviews did not actually stay in the rooms but Maxime was very helpful in advising on the various Champagnes and We found them to be a very pleasant change from the big name brands. Bought a couple of bottles to take back to the UK to test out and hopefully come back to stock up the cellar with a few cases.
