I guess going to L'Oeuil de Boeuf after having had dinner at Le Grillard Gourmand would have been a hard act to follow for ANY restaurant and it was. The Restaurant itself is very nice but lacks the warmth of LGG - no fire and no Le chef anywhere to be seen :( That aside, the staff were very attentive and helpful particularly with the menu. We chose the set menu €24.90. Hubby had a very generous serve of smoked salmon and I had Potage st Germain as entree. The Potage was indistinguishable - was it pea soup??? It was hearty if a little lacking in taste (but then I did have a bad cold). We both had the wild boar stew with potatoes. The meat was beautifully tender BUT the meat was so salty that after a few mouthfuls I found it was just too salty for me despite mixing with the potatoes. Hubby had Asiette de Brie and I had Coupe de something for dessert which consisted of 2 small slices of Brie with bread and mine was chestnut ice cream with cream and caramel - very nice but too sweet. Staff were lovely and did not charge for wine. Would definitely go back to sample something else if ever in Epernay again.

Delightful staff responded well to the "marie avec beaucoup faim!" and bought us our food promptly. Was full of locals which is always a good sign.

Superb food and friendly service. Went without a reservation on a Saturday night. We didn't realise they didn't open until 7.30pm but were offered a seat and a drink to wait out the 20 minutes until serving time. We both had the 24 Euro set menu, which has plenty of choice for all 3 courses - only really fussy eaters would fail to find something they liked. We struggled with a few culinary terms, even though our French is pretty good, but the waitress took time to explain the dishes and even went to fetch a dictionary as we couldn't understand the word "sanglier" (wild boar). Delicious food, well presented and good portions. Meat cooked to perfection (onglet was a lovely pink "à point" and the wild boar stew was tender). Set menu is excellent value and other options looked good too, judging by nearby tables. Wanted to go again but they're closed on Sunday evening.

We ordered the Speciality of the house- faux filet to share and were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was 100 metre walk from our hotel.

Having been let down by the place we had booked, this was a last minute change. I cannot say how pleased we were that we ended up here rather than where we had planned to be, and incidentally had been before.
Lovely service and a buzzy atmosphere, all the tables were full. We chose to have their set menu which was €24 for three courses; fantastic value! There was a choice of three items per course and we were very pleasantly surprised by both the quality and quantity of the food served. We had a lovely champagne and a superb Cotes du Rhone. We left feeling like we had dined exceptionally well and were even escorted to our waiting taxi. Including tip €100 was a very reasonable price for the evening we had.

If I am in the area again I will definitely be going back.
