“Cheap stop over, clean and close to the town centre”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Stayed here on the way to the south of France, had some trouble finding it as it is a new place and our sat-nav wasn't (new that is).
Very basic, but clean, friendly staff, close to the centre (walking distance 10min past the railway track and turn left and there you are), would definately recommend it for a cheap stop over, tried the premiere classe Reims on the way back and given the choice I would always chose this one! Feels a lot newer and safer.

the place was very cheap and considering European standards of hostels of that price range - this was a positively furnished within budget with a tiny but new and clean bathroom and cozy small room. It's a good budget place for a couple of nights.

Room Tip: I would probably aim for a room that is not facing the main road but the parking space.

We stayed here for a long weekend to go wine tasting in Epernay.

Good points:
- car park
- price
- views over vineyards (oh and railway line if you're a trainspotter... not me!)

Bad points:
- a bit further out of town that we'd hoped
- very small room and tiny bathroom
- only 1 pillow per person and when asking if there were others being told 'I'm not sure we have any more' before going and taking one from another room which left that room without a full set!
- we had lots of ladybirds in the room
- bright light from the railway sidings 50m from hotel shone into the room all night long (even with the curtains shut)

If you don't mind a small room and are going to be out all the time then this is a good cheap hotel. But don't plan on doing anything more than sleeping in the room - there isn't the space!

Room Tip: try to get a room on the roadside of the building so that you don't have the glare of the railwa...

The size of the room and bathroom in this budget hotel may shock some less traveled American tourists. Things are compact, the bathroom seemed smaller than even those in a bargain room on a cruise ship -- but everything was clean and met our needs for a quick one night stay. Our room faced the road but we had no problem with that. There were no boisterous youngsters or problems with the staff. We did not opt for the breakfast. Plenty of parking. Close to town but we didn't feel it was walkable.

Worst nights sleep ever room faces main road and window may as well not be there. They fill the place with students very rude loud and thought less. Manager did try to help. However what can you do with a coach load of 18 year old pissed students german. Doors banging all night loud voices.

First, the good: it's inexpensive, and it has plenty of parking in a secure lot. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is basic but not very expensive: breads, yoghurt, coffee and juice, and (if I recall) ham and slices of cheese.

Now, for the bad: the rooms are very small. There isn't a closet to hang up your clothes, but instead there is a rack in one corner. The bathroom is amazingly small, to the point where maneuvering inside it can be challenging. The hotel is non-smoking, but the cigarette burns on the bedcover, plus the strong smell of air freshener in the air in the room (assumedly to mask the leftover smoke smell), means that this isn't always honored.

The location of the hotel could either be good or bad, depending on your goals. If you want to wander around inside Epernay, it isn't very convenient, since it is somewhat on the outskirts and isn't really close to much. If you instead are checking out Reims and the small towns located between Reims and Epernay, the location is very convenient, since it is close to the edge of town.

If you come with children, there is a fun feature in the family rooms: a bunk bed, which runs above the larger bed (perpendicular to it). The kids enjoyed this a lot.

Overall, an average hotel -- you get what you pay for, but definitely not more. I would be willing to stay here again, but would probably look at other hotels in the area as well.

Room Tip: Rooms on the same side as the parking lot also have a nice view out over the champaign vinyards.

We were travelling back from Spain and arranged to stay a second time. Very nice welcome, good clean room at great value. Its not a hilton or a 5 star hotel but for straight forward great value you need look no further. If you want to be right in the middle of the town expect to pay 5-10 times.
