We dined at the restaurant on a rainy Saturday evening. We were treated as favored guests even though it was our first experience at the restaurant and were seated in the main room at a window - very unusual for Americans to be treated with this much deference. The waitstaff was friendly, gracious, and very professional. I had the full menu; my partner had the one-course less option. Every course was creative, delicious tasting and finely plated. The pacing, even though the restaurant was full, was precise and timed for maximum diner enjoyment. Let me emphasize: we DINED, not ATE at this restaurant. If the reader does not know the difference in these terms, do not go here. It is Michelin-starred for a reason. If you think 81euro, or 69euro for food and service of this quality is excessive, go to a bistro. Superb liste; exceptional place.

It doesn't look particularly impressive outside, but inside it is simply delightful. From the initial welcome by charming receptionists to the final goodbyes, it is easy to see why this restaurant has its Michelin Star. The food is really quite simple but prepared with a flair and served with evident delight by the superbly trained staff. Our party had the 80 Euro menu and the deft little touches made this truly a meal to remember.
The wine list, especially the champagnes, is extensive and not overpriced.
We started with oysters for two and lobster for two, which with the accompanying touches were superb. Following the starters we had lamb, venison and roasted fish with clam sauce and saffron. Each was cooked to perfection and the members of my party each vied to say their main course was the best.
How I wish we could aspire to this cooking at this price in the UK

We've stayed twice in the Les Berceaux Hotel and eaten in the gastronomic restaurant (there is a second, lesser, restaurant on the premises) both times. The hotel is, frankly, a dump, albeit a very convenient one when the purpose of your visit to Epernay is, as ours was, to eat in this fantastic Michelin-starred restaurant. We consider the restaurant good value: not cheap, but fairly priced for what you get. And we were lucky both times to be able to park on the street in a metered spot right in front of the hotel, leaving our car there for the night. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday.

Daily menus are shown on the restaurant's Web site. Have a look, and definitely go to this restaurant if you're in the region.

This is a Michelin starred restaurant in Epernay, with an (overpriced) hotel. We ate in the Restaurant Patrick Michelon; there is a cheaper bistro style option.

It's good to see that Michelin are still handing out stars to places that do good, reasonably plain cooking, without bizarre flavour combinations and a list of ingredients as long as your arm. We had two courses plus cheese plus pud, and th einevitable amuse bouche. All excellent, if not especially memorable.

I had a cod steak with courgette flowers stuffed with salt cod, delish, followed by really excellent roast pigeon, the best I've had. The others had foie gras followed veal chop, both very good, especially the foie. Cheeses were as good as one would hope, puds also, especially a delicious lemon cream thing with loads of wild strawberries.

Wines ranged from pricey to eyewatering. We had wine by the glass, all very good, especially the red burgundy.

Service was competent and pleasant.

At €69 (another course available for €12, although I couldn't have squeezed it in), wines about €10 or 12 a glass, very fairly priced.

Not worth going miles out of your way for, but if you're in the area, definitely a good dinner.

We had the €81 menu, which is starter, fish, meat, cheese and dessert.

They were accomodating enough to let us take a meat course instead of the fish, which was nice, but what you expect at that price!

Location was nice - big tables, even if you are a couple, which is a always a nice touch. Food was great - good portions, simple, quality.

We had wine by the glass so we could try a lot of different things and match the courses. All were good and not unreasonably priced, especially the dessert wine.

Chef spent a lot of the time in the restaurant greeting people, which was nice as well.

Overall, pretty good show.
