We were greeted by the cutest little dog at Villa St Pierre on arrival and a friendly neighbour parked our vehicle for us. The room was crisp and the wi-fi excellent. Breakfast was great with good coffee, a variety of fresh breads and pastries with cheese & cold meats. The toilet might have a line to the bermuda triangle but at such a reasonable price we can only give compliments. Our luggage was kept safe while we explored some more before departing and we were given excellent tips on sight-seeing.

It is probably more guest house than hotel but nevertheless a lovely little place for an extremely good price. Great location, about 10-15 minute walk to the train station, shops and restaurants close by, champagne houses also close. The room is small and basic but for the price you would not expect more. Clean, comfortable and well presented. Some people may find the shower too small but it was ok for me. The electric toilet was interesting!!!! Pierre was a very friendly host. I did not eat there so cannot comment on breakfast or dinner.

We stayed here in Oct 21 Thru the 23!! Our experienced was absolutely wonderful in the hotel, Pierre was more than warm and his food was delicious. EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT BOOK IN THIS HOTEL HAS TO EAT THERE!!! i had no words to described everything!! The hotel was what i looking for!! We rent a car so the first question for Pierre was about the parking and it was plenty of parkings on the street and really safe! the hotel it's 5 min walk for everything! If someone book in here, prepared to be surprised!! We book a double room! One of the most important things is that the rooms are really clean!!! THANKS MR PIERRE AND BERNADETTE FOR THE MOST WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE<3 WE WANT TO GO BACK AGAIN!!!!!! Do not hesitate to ask something to Pierre, he can answer and give you many advises about the champagne and the places to go!!

Room Tip: we saw the room 14 and it's more modern!! and we stayed in the 13 a double room really really big!!!!

The best that can be said about this hotel is the location. Though not the parking, all on street and first come first served. Families with luggage beware.

The building has been internally altered to eke out every spare inch of room to cram in as many rooms as possible and the resultant stud partition walls allow sound to travel unimpaired.
Our room , number 5, appeared to have been decorated and furnished by a first year student with a liking for lime green who forgot to include curtains. The external shutters pitched the room into darkness which the single dim bulb could do nothing to penetrate. There was another table lamp but no socket in which to plug it.
The en suite "bathroom" was simply an area of the room boxed off . It was so poorly equipped we did not use it. We would have photographed it but there was not enough light !
The communal areas are basically furnished with tired furniture which was clearly bought on a shoestring.

Breakfast was terrible it looked like it had been bought from a local garage just prior to its sell by date . Dry miniature pastries a selection of very liquid jams .

The owner is cheerfully disinterested in feedback.

This place is designed and serviced to maximise profit at the expense of basic quality and survives on its location alone.

When you arrive, parking is in the street (but in our experience, safe) and the first impresiion of the hotel is disappointing. More of a B&B than a hotel (no lounge, no lift and in our case no number on the door (no.13!). BUT - the warmth of the owner (Pierre) and his lady (Bernadette) hints of other delights. We were not enamoured with the electronic and noisy, but seperate toilet. The electronic shower head that lights up "Blue" when cold, "Green" when warm, "Red" when hot, and flashes Red when very hot was facinating - ours was held at shower height with a holder on the wall and pressure was excellent, no problems with showering in the bath. The bedroom had a slope to the floor and the decor was tired and in need of a refresh, but we slept well in the comfortable, clean if slightly small, bed. The room was quiet. The breakfasts were varied, ample and very good with some of the best croissants we have experienced. An excellent choice of teas (including all 3 varieties of Yorkshire tea!). Be warned you may feel something brushing against your leg, but there are 3 little and very friendly (but not troublesome) dogs that wander around the ground floor. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk of the town centre with it's varied attractions - 15 mins walk to the railway station with a fast and frequent service to most other towns and cities. A "bonus" we found is a small and excellent restaurant just around the corner 2 minutes away with a varied and excellent menu (not open Tuesday and Wednesday) called "au petit fourneau". Pierre will be able to answer most queries about the local champagnes and the various tourist attrtactions and is most helpful in arranging things for you (such as taxis, etc.). Wifi connection is free, but slightly slow. Do not expect luxury surroundings, bellhops, maitre d's, swimming pools, etc - but you get basic hospitality with a defined "french eccentricity" that in itself is a bonus and worth experiencing - and all at a reasonable price. Remember, you get what you pay for - and here you get more than you pay for in experience and location.

Room Tip: There are at least 3 grades of room, we paid for the best grade and had no problems. Our friends were in the lower grade and they had to hold the shower head but their room was better decorated. We snuck a look through an open door at the cheapest room and it was a lot smaller and with only a curtain across the shower room for a door. Remember if stairs are difficult for you, don't have a room above the first floor - there is no lift (a sales opportunity for Stannah?).
