We went midweek just as a rain storm had passed so it was wonderfully quiet. The chateau itself is stunning and set in the manicured grounds it just didn't look real. Doing the full house tour gives you an insight of how the rich lived in the years gone by. Don't forget to also do a full tour of the grounds and not just the pretty gardens. For the infirm or the less active you can hire a golf buggy to get around but I think it would go way too quick. And don't miss the large herd of deer at the far end of the grounds plus the bat caves.

Restaurant: Family-type kitchen. Generous portions. Great view on the castle. The dining room itself is banal. Jean-Pierre is a great connoisseur in wines. Very reasonably priced. The castle itself is great.

Really nice French Chateau, lots of free parking nearby and once we found the entrance (signposting not great)

The house is great and has lots of things to see, the restaurant food whilst not cheap was excellent. It was really tasty and the childrens menu was just perfect.

The grounds included a maze (you need to work on the codes to get through the gates) and a couple of bouncy castles, great for a 3yr old! The maze and the farm and the peacocks were just brilliant.

Well worth a visit if you are in the area, just stunning!

Dave
