“Value for Money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2011

This hotel was one of the cheapest hotels we stayed in during our European Vacation and we couldn't believe what we got for our money. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the station and the Visitor Information Centre and about 15 minutes from the old centre of Tours but right around the corner is one of the busiest streets for restaurants, bars and antique shops. Rue de
The hotel is rather old and quaint but the room we had was huge and we had a very large bathroom with it's own window which was great for getting the washing done. Also had a laundromat just up the road.
The staff were very friendly and there was plenty of tourist information available in the foyer. Despite its central location the hotel was very quiet, we had a huge window which opened into the street to let in fresh air, and it was great on Sunday afternoon to sit with the sun shining in the window and listen to the Piano accordian player singing a frendh tune. Tres French!
We had a great stay.

Caretakers were not very helpful or interested in our questions. They are a young couple with living on the first floor. Room had a strange pull out couch that was not easy to set up. Nails were sticking out of a warn piece of wooden furniture piece. Bedding was very uncomfortable and the building looked warn. The whole place was lacking in spirit which is a shame because Tours is a charming blue collar town. I switched to Hotel Foch, which was about 1.5 stars better! I'm not picky, but at 77 euros at night, you can do better price and service at Foch. No elevator was a hassle because we had to go up 4 flights.

Room Tip: Go to Hotel Foch instead!

This is an old building with renovated rooms which are quite big for modern standards.
The (chinese) staff were very helpful and polite and the hotel has an INTERNAL safe parking that you can use to safely park your car.
There is also free WiFi for use by the guests. You only need to ask for the password.
The rooms, bathrooms, beds and sheets are very clean and the breakfast served is good (standard continental breakfast).
If you are looking for a no frills hotel right in the centre of Tours that also offers a secure parking for your car, this is really a great choice.
No complaints at all, apart from the fact that the decoration in the rooms is old fashioned and rather bad taste :))

Lovely older style 2 star hotel. Good location in quirky little French lane and walking distance to everything you need to see & do in Tours (Tours isn’t that big). Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was pretty small but not really an issue. Wi-fi access a bit iffy. No elevator so take a back pack and not one of those difficult to haul up stairs wheelie suit case things unless you have a very strong and capable husband (which my wife does)

Nothing outstanding about this hotel. Other reviewers mentioned that the owners didn't speak English. I think it has changed hands recently and they speak pretty good English. Well, we got by anyway.

We stayed in an attic room, which is cheaper than other rooms. Everything was clean and tidy with all the basics provided. The pedestrian street nearby has some restaurants etc on it but we generally ate at the other end of town (about 800m west) where there were a lot more restaurants to choose from. It's a quiet hotel with no major dramas. Couldn't get WIFI to work.

We stayed for just one night here, but had a wonderful experience. Owners accommodated our family of five with a very large room with one double, 2 singles and a sofa bed. Location was key, just off rue Colbert with its dozens of restaurants and shops. Breakfast was great, consisting of delicious croissants, baguette, confitures, yogurt, cereals, coffee, tea and juices. Parking is available at the hotel for a fee, but we found a free lot within an easy walk from hotel. Staff was very friendly, and prices were reasonable. Only concern was some late night noise from rue Colbert, but overall we had a great stay
