“A terrific hotel”

We are doing a tour of some chateaux here, and our tour company recommended it. We were initially concerned because it is only a two star hotel. However, as many have written, this is a lovely hotel. Rooms are clean, nicely appointed and comfortable. The hotel is also fabulously located. I'd certainly stay here again.

Spent a night here with friends as we were passing through on a cycling holiday, the hotel is a real gem that we just found by chance, really nice decor and the rooms were luxurious, and the staff friendly and welcoming, had a secure area for cycles. Very close to the centre of town, would definitely recommend as a stopover or as a base

Booked this hotel based on TA reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with all the good quality furnishings - great bed, window shutters to block out headlights at night and sun during the day, double glazed windows to block out street traffic in the central location, a heated towel rack, great doona on the bed and individual air conditioning. Location was fantastic, easy to walk to and from the gare. Lots of clothing and shoe shops to keep me occupied on the walk down to the Halle every morning. And did I mention that the couple who ran it were just lovely and provided many brochures as we checked in. The floorboards do creak a bit but this did not worry us and we had absolutely no noise from the other guests. Just a great find and immaculately cleaned every day. We stayed 6 nights and trained it to Blois, Amboise, Saumur and Chenonceau. The cathedral in Tours and its stained glass windows was beautiful. Wifi was excellent.

Stayed at this property for 5 nights as a base for exploring the loire valley. We explored the area by train and found the premises acceptable for this purpose. Premises is Very well located being close to the river, one street from cafes and restaurants, a five minute walk to the main retail shopping street, a very pleasant 10 minute walk to the "old" city and one street away from what is known as the antiques street of Tours. As mentioned by other reporters, the Management are very welcoming and during our stay there was a good mixture of French and people from other nationalities staying at the property who all appeared to be well satisfied with everything povided. Only drawback is that there Is no lift to service the several levels of the property. So make sure you have a room on the lower floors

This hotel is well-looked after with modern rooms and a central location in Tours from where you can walk to shops, restaurants and sights. The reception is friendly and helpful and it's good value for money. Highy recommended.

We stopped off in Tours on our way back from our holiday in the Cantal. The hotel was very clean and quiet and the manageress was extremely polite and helpful and spoke in good clear French. We had some difficulty finding the place, but that might have been down to our map reading and coming in from the South. The trick is to follow the south bank of the Loire and turn up the Rue Voltaire opposite the large bibliotheque building. Price was a little more than I expected, but I guess it is the going rate for a city centre hotel.

This hotel is a real gem in a quiet spot not too far from the heart of the city in Tours. What I loved most about this hotel were the owners and the staff. They were super friendly and helpful with everything from food to making a bicycle trip reservation and they speak English. The breakfast was great, the room spotless and air conditioned, the decor charming with lovely opera photos on the walls.

Ask the owner to give you a discount parking card for 8 euros and you can leave your car as long as you like in the garage 2 blocks away -- street side parking is very limited here and the hotel is small and has no garage.

There is a nice selection of restaurants a few blocks walk away.

The rooms are on the small side, but not surprising because the hotel is tucked into a corner in a French city. All in all it's great for the price, very quiet, charming, and friendly. What more do you want on a family holiday?

Be sure to check out the Magic Museum in Blois by the way!! And you can rent bicycles near the train station in Tours!!
