We decided to try this restaurant after reading the great reviews it has already recieved and we not disappointed. Very friendly service in an lovely setting, an amazing starter of lobster and scallop tempura, with steak tartare and scallop risotto for main course, both of which were lovely. And all for a very reasonable price. Would definatly recommend!

A busy Friday evening, no reservation, we stumble across this wonderful little restaurant by chance and enjoyed a meal unsurpassed by any of the more expensive restaurants we visited during our visit to the Loire valley. Very un-PC foie-gras poached in Gamay wine and cote de veau to die for. Expert cooking and the 'patron' served us with expertise, knowledge and charm. Go for it!

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and were eager to check it out with its many postive reviews. La Galipette lived up to the hype as the food was excellent, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the ambience of this cozy restaurant was outstanding. We did not have reservations on a Friday night, but the very kind manager found us a spot for 2 even though they were very busy.

We went with Stuffed Mushrooms and Foie Gras to start and they both tasted exceptional. My fiancee and I both ordered the veal with scalloped potatoes for our main and enjoyed it very much, the presentation was amazing as well. The desserts were also very well prepared and tasted very good. The wine recommended by the manager (I don't know for sure if he was the owner as well), was so good we ended up getting 2 bottles!

This restaurant is a gem, the staff and chef take their roles very seriously while also treating you like family. If you find yourself in Tours, you cannot go wrong by stopping in at La Galipette.

Booked for party of 3 but needn't have as restaurant not busy on Wednesday night. Service friendly and helpful. My food was bland and in very small portions, though the bill was modest. Others in the party enjoyed their food more

La Galipette is exactly what we were looking for: located in the historic heart of Tours, with modern French cuisine that is quite simply terrific and without breaking the bank! Updates on French classics such as the herbed Foie Gras, which we voted the best foie gras of the trip (and we tried many), to the simple and elegant pear dessert, to my personal favorite - the pepper and hazelnut encrusted fish- left us all wishing we had another night in Tours to return! To boot: an extensive whisky list and of couse local wines. Excellent service as well.
