One of the prettiest museums we ever visited. Great paintings within and atmosphere . Great cedar of Lebanon in the courtyard. We recommend it.

Stunning tree in courtyard. Don't miss Barnums elephant which was shot in Tours when it went on the rampage.

It only take 30-45 minutes to go through the museum. It has art work related to Tours. Nothing exceptional. It is fun to combine with a walk on the river.

The museum is in an 18th century house in a beautiful formal garden with a huge cedar tree. The collection has many minor works by major artists, and lots of ornate furniture on the first 2 floors. The top floor comes as a surprise - minimalist decor white walls, brick floors, and a marvellous selection of paintings - here there are the major works of minor artists - some wonderful impressionists, with some excellent local views. Highly recommended.
