I could not give higher praise for such a wonderful meal. Start to finish we felt warmly welcomed and spoiled by the outstanding staff, who never failed to bring personal touches, even greeting us by name as we approached the restaurant.
We had been wine-touring through Provence, Rhone & Burgogne for the week, and wished to try the local Loire fare. The suggestions to accompany our meal were expertly chosen and simply delicious.
The Chef's (Alain Couturier) cooking was perfectly executed and was the best of traditional french cuisine. The Coeur d'Aloyau and the Meuniere fish special were simply spectacular, and the cheese cart was so decadent.
But above all, we would like to praise the staff for their superior service. The attentiveness, consideration and the warmth displayed by all of them, made for a truly memorable meal. They went out of their way to please, and while we shut down the restaurant that night, and were the last two in the building, we were still being served by 3 people who made no effort to rush us. Even Chef Couturier checked-in to see if we had enjoyed the meal.
Our only regret: While we passed along our compliments to the chef, we feel that we should have expressed further to the Host and Wait-staff, that it was their efforts that truly made our evening.
