We had read about this Cathedral, and were very pleased to find that the windows came up to our expectations. It is a little way off the main road from the station, and could easily be missed, which would be a shame.

Great location, beautiful historical building, not to Be missed whie in Tours. It is located near the museum, and place Plumereau which should also be on your list of things to see.

There isn't that much to do in Tours, so if you're in town, you should make a trip to the cathedral (located very close to the fine arts museum). The flamboyant façade is impressive and the stained glass in the interior of the church is well maintained and beautiful. It's not very large, so you can visit in a half hour or less. The cloisters were closed when we were there, but I've heard they're worth a visit. Free entrance.

This is a living church used and loved not a museum. Local people were coming in and celebrating and marking family events, which made it a lovely experience. However, the stained glass windows are superb, the colours, the artistry and their number are well worth the visit.
