Went to O’Grilo to look for an easy going, ‘kids accessible’ and m resto, after a long day in the sun, with 3 tired and hungry early teens.
Love France but not always easy to find places catering for kids not accustomed to specific French flavours - although we do try to give them a ‘taste of everything’.
Anyway, well received by a very very hospitable and multi lingual host. My wife and me are Flemish and yet relatively well accustomed to French, but it always feels so much more welcoming if your host does not assume right from the start that French will do :-).
From Portuguese to English to Spanish to German, between the two parties we relatively quickly Seattles on French being a mutually foreign but acceptable means of communication :-) haven’t said a word yet about the food; really because the atmosphere does so much on appreciating a foody place anyway I guess.
But so food wise: kids loved their Portuguese chicken with fries, mum and dad happily worked through excellent salads (can really recommend the pulpo = squid salad, simple but heaven!) and then set to finishing the kids’ left overs leaving us with plenty fries ourselves :-)!
To conclude: honest, good, relaxed and fairly priced taste of much-more-south-than-France type of place. We will come back next time around, yes we will!
