This was a return visit after a 20 year gap, and we were not disappointed. The location on the edge of the town might be a problem for pedestrians but the views of Loches [chateau, etc] from the public rooms and many of the bedrooms are stunning. Large and convenient car park. Pleasant hillside 'lawn' , indoor pool. Friendly staff speak good English but we tried our French on them anyway , which they appreciated! A minor plumbing problem was quickly fixed. Room was clean and comfortable. The food is of good quality and imaginative though with the same set of fixed price menus each night [which is OK for business travellers stopping one night] but we felt that a 'special of the day' might appeal to those who stay longer, as we did. Typical modern buffet breakfast was good. Our room could have been a bit bigger - the French don't seem to really go in much for "Twin" rooms and have solved this at the Luccotel by putting two single beds next to each other in the space a double would occupy. As I am a noisy snorer my wife found herself rather closer to the source of the noise than she would perhaps have liked! Usual problem with bedside lights which offer inadequate light for reading - as is the case in most hotels everywhere! Are we the only people who like to read in bed before 'lights out? The wifi was free though the signal in our room was rather weak.
Anyway, thats just me being picky. I would recommend this hotel to any couple wanting to explore this delightful part of France, or to those just passing through.
