In our week at Loches, twice we took the short stroll down from our gite to eat at the Cak't. Simple, wonderful French cooking. One prefix menu per night, very inexpensive with just a few tables (if possible, make an advance reservation to be safe), and wonderful down-home French cooking. Small, but very good Loire Valley wine list. It looks like a one-man operation, don't know how he does it! The tables outside are the best seating, comfortable chairs and nice setting in the village lane.
