“Had late night takeaway Pizza”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Albeit 10pm, and not a lot else open in Chinon at that time. Grabbed two Pizzas and took them back to our appartment. Pizzas were pretty average. If you were sitting down for a meal, the location is good, but there are better restaurants in the same square.

“felt robbed!”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

Whilst on a family holiday in Chinon we chose this restaurant, for it's great location, because it regularly looked busy and the menu appealed to our young children. It was a VERY disappointing meal. The food was very basic, cold by the time it reached us and we felt utterly ripped off, as though they were over pricing, distinctly average food for tourists. The steak at 19 euros was a particular let down - tough, served with frozen cold chips and one lettuce leaf. Frankly we were appalled at how much this restaurant were charging for the standard of food it was serving.

“A Good Break from Traditional French Food”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

Jeanne de France is an informal cafe, serving some main courses, pizza, pasta, omelets, and sandwiches. The pizzas and pastas are above average, the prices are reasonable, and the service is efficient and friendly.
The decor is basic nice and the restaurant is very clean. They have an extensive desert menu featuring crepes, ice cream and sundaes. I believe they are open until 11 PM.

“Good pizza place for a casual dinner”
Reviewed May 2, 2012

Jeanne de France has a varied menu at good prices. My husband loved the lasagna, while my son and I both enjoyed the pizza. The menu also includes omelets and sandwiches. If you develop a love of glace (ice cream) during your trip to France, Jeanne de France also offers a great selections of glace and crepes for dessert.

One note for Americans: We learned that in France pizzas only come in one size and each person orders his own pizza. This does make going out for pizza more expensive than it typically is in the US since each French pizza cost about 10 euros.

“Nice pizzeria on the main square”
Reviewed August 18, 2011

This pizzeria is located on the main square right below the castle. It has plenty of outdoor seating. The choice of pizzas on the menu is great and those we chose were all very good, with plenty of toppings and a thin crust. Families with children will appreciate the set children's menu which was good value.
