LAurent and Sophie will look after you like family. The food is to die for and the position ideal for touring round the Chateaux of the Loire. Make sure you visit the wine and mushroom caves nearby and dont forget the Chenonceaux and Chambord chateaux. Breakfast is extra but well worth it. The swimming pool is heated and it is in an idyllic setting in flower filled grounds. Go there once and I bet you will return.

We will always reflect on our stay at the Hotel la Roseraie with great pleasure. Laurent and Sophie are perfect hosts who made staying at their hotel in Chenoneaux an absolute treat. They were there at every turn to assist us with whatever we needed and could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. The food in their restaurant is some of the best we had in France. Hotel la Roseraie is a charming, well-run hotel in which to relax and enjoy your time in the Loire Valley.

Hotel Rosarie was the second stop on our honeymoon earlier this month. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by Laurent. Throughout our stay, Laurent and Sophie were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had the best stay possible. It's amazing the passion they have for what they do. They are truly great hosts.

This hotel is beautiful - so charming and full of character, beautifully decorated, comfortable, bright, gorgeous.
We (2 adults, 2 girls aged 9 ad 11) had just spent 5 days in Paris and 5 days on a lovley campsite in the region, but wanted to finish at the chateau of Chenonceau. Based on the tripadvisor reviews, I contacted the hotel and they suggested that we stay in their family apartment. There were photos on the hotel website of a family suite, and we expected that - but we got a much bigger space, that we all truly loved!
The apartment has so much space: a large bright living room (with flatscreen TV, that we never used!!), a room with 3 single beds, the main bedroom (large double bed in a big room with wooden-beams on the ceiling, with nice marble-topped table, armchairs, piano, fireplace and TV, and 2 large windows facing east and south that let fantastic soft light into the apartment. I love photography, and thought it would make a wonderful studio - and took advantage of it to take portraits of my husband and children.), a large bathroom, and a small bathroom too.
The apartment was accessed fromt he garden up a narrow wooden stairway, so it would not be very accessible to toddlers or the elderly or immobile. However, for us it was just added charm!
The gardens were beautifully and gently landscaped, with a particularly lovely display of soft pink and red roses.
The swimming pool was not too small, and our children spent lots of time there while we immersed ourselves in books.
The breakfast exceed all of our expectations, and we treated ourselves to the fine menu in their restaurant that evening. Apart for a few wasps tormenting our younger daughter, we had a delicious meal. There wasn't a children's menu, but our children thoroughly enjoyed a main course from the menu, and Laurent provided a special melon and berry starter for them.
The staff are all wonderful.
We really would like to stay in this hotel again some time.

Quite simply the best find we have ever made. We were warned that the only room left when we booked was "small but cute" and that is what it was, with bags of storage and a bathroom that would sleep 3 if needed. The breakfast wasn't cheap but would set you up for the day, the set menu choice in the restaurant was well priced against eating out in nearby towns and was better quality and far far better service. We were made to feel very welcome and the fantastic staff never failed to smile and be genuinely warm and helpfull - we will be back.

... it's as charming as most of the reviews say. It doesn't feel like a hotel, the food was good, the croissants were great. I wish we had more time to sit in the evening at the coesy bar with what looked like a dangerously fine selection of whiskey, brandy and champagne.

Laurent comes straight out of some classic 50's French movie.

In the evening we walked the few hundred metres to the Chateau to enjoy the light display. It was magic.

My husband and I spent 5 nights here as a part of a 10 day trip to France. We absolutely LOVED the accommodations at Hotel la Rosaraie. The entire property is distinctive, charming, and quiet. It feels like an inviting B&B...you might think of it as a “boutique” hotel. From the beautiful gardens to the wonderful private pool area, the outdoor area was very relaxing. Inside the Roseraie, the dining area was picturesque and elegant, but definitely not pretentious. We had two dinners out on their patio, surrounded by gorgeous roses and ivy…could not have been better. Our room was clean and welcoming…it was the perfect size for two. We were there during some hot summer weather, and the AC kept us comfortable all day and night. To our (pleasant) surprise, the bathroom was very spacious…something you don’t see often in France! The proprietors, Laurent and Sophie, were more than just owners/managers of the hotel - they were magnificent hosts. From the time I began corresponding via e-mail with Laurent regarding the accommodations (he is very responsive and detailed), we knew this would be a great place. They went out of their way to ensure that our stay was perfect. After a long day of driving/walking/sightseeing, we always looked forward to returning to the hotel. We were always greeted with a smile, and whoever was working at the front desk was eager to discuss our adventures (if we weren’t too tired), and make suggestions for new ones.

Their positive attitude and dedication to excellence filtered down to all employees (Charlotte was fabulous). Every person that we interacted with was absolutely delightful and accommodating…we felt that we had made new friends. The little extras were also appreciated…they let us borrow an electronic adapter (for our entire 5 day stay), as we had forgotten ours at home. This absolutely saved us from every traveler's worst fear...a dead camera battery!

We found this to be a VERY reasonably priced hotel, and felt that we got every penny’s worth. The food was fantastic, and as a bonus, was a great value (the prix fixe meal at 28.50 Euros is a great deal…a full-sized appetizer, unbelievable entrée, and fabulous dessert). We ate at a couple other places in the town, and La Rosaraie was bar none the very best. Their breakfasts were fabulous (especially if you have been saving up to eat as many delightful croissants as you can while traveling in France:) We’ve never seen such a beautiful breakfast presentation…from fresh café au lait and croissants…to yogurt, cereal, eggs, fresh fruit, ham and baguettes…every morning was a special treat.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you have a car and want to explore the country, castles, and wine caves in the region. Be sure to walk to see the chateau at night…beautifully lit and lovely music playing on the grounds....very peaceful and romantic. Needless to way, we highly this delightful hotel if you are staying in the Loire Valley. We were so disappointed when our stay came to an end and would go back tomorrow if we could.

As a side note: Our stay coincided with another reviewer’s stay (who gave Hotel la Rosaraie a one circle rating). We can say, without hesitation, that his review is most certainly inaccurate. We wonder why he didn’t write in English so that most Trip Advisor readers could actually understand it (he is American, as are we). His complaint about the TV being old is just silly, since most people don't travel to France to watch TV. We were appalled at this review and can honestly say that our stay, which overlapped the SAME DAY as his, was wonderful.
