As people have already said, so many good reviews cant be wrong, And they arnt, you feel safe and welcomed from the momment you walk throught the door, the owners are so friendly, and such an adorrable little girl, how ever im side tracked. we spent 5 nights here to celebrate our 30th anniversary and our room on the balcony was lovely and bright and clean, the bathroom was hugh, The pool area is just perfect, and we had dinner here on two nights and the food is lovely, Try the tiramisu it is to die for, only down side if you are a vegitarian you will struggle, luckily my wife eats fish, so ok there.
The village is quaint, and the Chateau is just 5 mins walk around the corner. This is a great place to base to tour the area, and its a taken that im sure at some point in the future we will return.
Thank you la rosarie

After reading rave reviews about Hotel de la Roseraie on Tripadvisor, we decided to spend a couple of nights at this hotel during our last vacation in France. Our party included parents and two teenage daughters. Although we live in the US, I, the mother, am European and a native French speaker.
After landing in Paris, I drove the 3 hours to get to Chenonceaux. We arrived in town at around 10:30 on a Sunday morning and decided to check in and drop our luggage before heading to lunch and a visit of the castle. We did not expect for our rooms to be ready since it was too early but thought that we might be able to park the car and grab a cup of coffee as we were tired from our trip. We were greeted by the owner who was visibly inconvenienced by our early arrival. I reassured her, saying that we did not expect our rooms but simply wanted to catch our breath after a long trip and before tackling our tour. Because of her abruptness and obvious impatience, we simply left our bags in the car and moved on.
We had also reserved a table for dinner, since again, the reviews of the restaurant were great. We were greeted by a pleasant but very inexperienced waitress. Since the weather was beautiful, I asked her if we could eat outside. She told us that we could have an aperitif outside but that our table had been set in the restaurant and that eating on the patio was not possible. The food was adequate but far from outstanding and the service was a disaster. We were served by a waiter, responsible for our table and three others. All tables were occupied by American tourists and assuming that nobody could understand him, he kept mumbling impatient and disparaging comments each time he left their table. From my interactions with him, I can also say that he was incompetent as far as his knowledge of food and wines was concerned. To add to my frustration, when we left the restaurant, I noticed that a table of locals had settled and were eating on the patio.
The rooms were adequate but tired and spartan.
The owner warmed up to us when we checked out but in my book, it was a bit too little too late.
The parking, by the way is really difficult to access and we never saw a swimming pool.
Needless to say that I was disappointed by our visit at hotel de la roseraie. I will not go back and cannot recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is owned by a couple, and the wife spoke fluent English. She was a jewel, who gave great suggestions based on our interests and provided shortcuts directions that were very helpful. She gave us a warm welcome each time we returned and was genuinely interested in helping make this vacation a great trip with their hospitality. The convenience of location was great, and the outdoor seating for meals or a drink was quite pleasant.

Room Tip: Our room had a small balcony with table and chairs

The best part of this hotel is the winning combination of location and great staff. The staff here is amazing, helpful and genuinely kind.

The hotel itself is in pretty heaving disrepair. I don't mind old but I mind tacky. The old linoleum floors and horrific wallpaper are distracting. There is a weird mixure of cheap modern furniture and antiques that leaves you scratching your head and wondering just what the heck you are looking at and what the heck they were thinking.

The hotel is old and loud. Unfortunately for us we were next to a couple who made more noise that I could believe. You could hear them coming from the floor below. Stomping feet, slamming doors, loud talking, etc. The problem also was that it wasn't just them. The hotel is just old an uninsulated and we could hear other people all over.

The staff makes this place, so if you're a heavy sleeper and don't mind the lack of things to do in town then I'd definitely recommend this hotel. If not, find somewhere to stay in Amboise.

There is a nice restaurant across the street at the Relais Du Roy that has the most delicious ice cream I've ever eaten. I've head the La Roseraie restaurant was good but we didn't try it because we are vegetarians and everything on the menu had meat in it.

The location is great but if I had to do it all over again I'd stay in Amboise because there is just nothing, NOTHING to do in Chenonceaux except see chateau and that only takes a few hours.

We stayed here while visiting chateaus in the Loire Valley. The location is great with the highly rated and popular Chenonceau just down the syreet. Some would call it walking distance. We were greeted by the owner who was very helpful. She loaned me her computer so I could deal with an urgent matter back home. The rooms were very nice and our friends had one with a terrace overlooking the outdoor portion of the restaurant. room price was well within our budget. The owner was helpful in getting us on the right roads back to the expressway (no small task in rural France). Parking was free. The buffet breakfast was as expected although the waitress was well schooled in the French concept of the unhurried breakfast and often kept us waiting longer than Americans on a schedule prefer. The restaurant was high end and beyond our budget so we dined elsewhere. The menu would suggest an excellent choice of food if you were in the market for something in that price range. It seemed that it must be good because there were good crowds each night we sat above the restaurant on the terrace. Find an ATM before leaving the city because no credit cards.

Room Tip: Ask for a terrace room.

Incredibly friendly and helpful. Help with luggage, unusual in a 3* hotel was much appreciated. We are bothin our seventies with health problems. We stayed for a week and were given a special menu for the last half of the week so that we did not get bored with the menu. The food was excellent but the main thing was the relaxed atmosphere.
There are fewer and fewer hotels like this left unfortunately

We had an amazing stay here. Knowing we were going to be arriving after 8pm we emailed ahead to request seating for dinner upon arrival. After a welcoming greeting they took us to our cute room with huge bathroom! We then went to the dining room for an AMAZING pre-fixe meal with wine and desert. (We learned pre-fixe menu is the way to go in France.) We had a wonderful night sleep and an amazing full breakfast in the morning. We would definitely stay here again!
