We had already been to three or four chateaux where we were captives to the lunch trade. At best we at over-priced average food. At worst we ate very poor, over-priced food. However my wife had been here before 2 years earlier and insisted on us dining at L'Orangerie.

How right she was!

This place offered a great menu, providing for a la carte or several set menu options. We went for the set course menu - not because of our hunger but because of the great value - entree, main course, dessert and cheese platter. 2 hours later we waddled out to resume our visit of the chateau. Our only criticism is that they provided too much high quality food. For this meal, with a beer each and a fine 500ml bottle of wonderful local white wine we paid the sum of 80 Euros.

It was really incredible value. My only advice is probably go with the a la carte option unless you are ravenous, or incredibly greedy. We skipped dinner that evening.

Great place to dine in a beautiful location.

Delicious food and wonderful presentations. Took pictures of the food, it was so well presented. Also delicious. If you plan to go to Chenceau, give yourself time for lunch here.....

We visited this restaurant after being crowded around the chateau and found it to be a haven of tranquility and impeccable service.

The meal was of a very high quality and of excellent value and the setting, overlooking the pristine garden was great.

This restaurant in the L’Orangerie is a fabulous setting and the food is wonderful but a little expensive it is a traditional French restaurant with regard to service so expect to wait and leave enough time to visit the Chateau
Ideally you should book on line but if not get there early to book a table
Overall well worth the wait

The Margret de Canard was the best I ever tasted! It was so pleasant to get away from the crowds and sit in this peaceful and elegant setting. Everything put in front of me was delicious. Worth the drive from Paris for lunch!
