We had already been to three or four chateaux where we were captives to the lunch trade. At best we at over-priced average food. At worst we ate very poor, over-priced food. However my wife had been here before 2 years earlier and insisted on us dining at L'Orangerie.
How right she was!
This place offered a great menu, providing for a la carte or several set menu options. We went for the set course menu - not because of our hunger but because of the great value - entree, main course, dessert and cheese platter. 2 hours later we waddled out to resume our visit of the chateau. Our only criticism is that they provided too much high quality food. For this meal, with a beer each and a fine 500ml bottle of wonderful local white wine we paid the sum of 80 Euros.
It was really incredible value. My only advice is probably go with the a la carte option unless you are ravenous, or incredibly greedy. We skipped dinner that evening.
Great place to dine in a beautiful location.
