“My Favorite Cathedral”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

I read several books on the cathedral's history and architecture before the visit. It really helped me appreciate the significance of this amazing place. You truly could spend days here examining the artwork and noticing new things. I will return. The labyrinth was a highlight.

“Perfection !”

The Cathedral is the most impressive and beautiful I have ever seen. Wherever you look there will be a wonderful something. The restoration is still not finished inside but you can easily imagine how stunning this cathedral will be in few years. It doesn't matter if you are catholic or not, you will have a unique sensation in it and will feel that this cathedral has a soul. Less famous than Reims, Chartres cathedral has nothing to be jealous about. I truly recommend this perfect cathedral which is the most beautiful of France and certainly the most beautiful of the world. Enjoy your visit.

“More impressive than Reims”

It has managed to integrate the old and the new. The central part kept intact from the middle ages is a symbol of humility.

“Another easy day trip from Paris”

The cathédrale is everything that all have raved about and more. Exploring the city streets around the cathedral is magical. Don't miss the stained glass shop on the corner and the gardens behind the cathedral. We will go back, no doubt!

“A must see”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

The building is amazing...size, carvings and especially the stained glass windows. The audio guide for the Cathedral is essential in my view, it added hugely to our visit. The commentary is given my a French lady with a very pleasing voice. Sadly the commentary for the choir, which is an additional extra, was given by an English man with poor delivery and style and an unfortunate accent. We couldn't stand listening to him for more than a few items so would not recommend that part of the guide.
