Such a contrast between the very ordinary ground floor bistro and the very stylish accomodation up high and just opposite the cathederal. The cost is 50% more than you pay for a lot of Chateau hotels. What you get is a delightful room, a bathroom with spa bath, and a fantastic position. Parking in the nearby underground is secure and with the hotel pass, free.
The bistro food was good and delicious basic french fare at a reasonable cost so what we blew on the room was balanced by saving on the meal

We stayed at Le Parvis for one night because we wanted to visit the cathedral. It was the most perfect location - just a few steps away. We drove in to Chartres with a GPS expecting it to be difficult but the owners had sent us detailed instructions - and a picture - which actually took us to the back door of the hotel where they took our bags and provided us with a "picture book" of instructions to the parking building. Our most painless experience with a car in the narrow streets of a medieval city! The rooms are quirky - we had the Blue Room which is a bit dark but has a good bathroom and a very comfortable bed and plenty of space for suitcases. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice and the breakfast was good too. The staff were absolutely great - so helpful and pleasant. I would recommend le Parvis unreservedly.

Room Tip: The Blue room is a bit dark and looks out over the back street - not at the cathedral.

Perfect location right opposite the cathedral. We were impressed with Le Parvis even before we arrived. On a driving tour, the lengths they went to to ensure we found them and the included car parking space was greatly appreciated. It is a very quirky place especially the bedrooms. We were in Les Louis whose decor was like being in 19th century France. A lovely sitting room with creaky floorboards, long heavy curtains.....delightful. En suite a little cramped but great shower, bedroom was fine. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. We opted to have an evening meal there which was one of the best we had throughout our 2 week time in France. Not a cheap B&B but the location and overall quality make it good value. No hesitation in recommending Le Parvis.

When we arrived early in the morning after our flight from Toronto, our room wasn't yet ready. The woman who appears to be the hardest working person in France, was very kind and offered to let us use the cave if we wanted to rest for a while. Instead, we went out for a stroll. When we got to our room we were delighted with the view. Our windows look right out onto the cathedral which is, literally, a stone's throw away. We stayed in Louis, which has a nice sitting area and then a separate bedroom. The ONLY recommendation I could make is the addition of some draws or shelves for our belongings. I ended up using the cupboard under the kitchen sink. (There's a hot plate, sink and fridge.) Our hostess has been wonderful and helpful beyond words. Best of all, she hears us struggling with our French and she tries to teach us the words. She speaks English so it would be much easier for her to just switch over, but she wants to help us improve our skills. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to visit the Cathedral or use Chartres as a base for seeing the chateaux in the Loire Valley. We took a terrific day trip to Amboise and Chenenceau, so they're both within easy driving distance.

Room Tip: Our room, Louis, had a sitting room that looked out onto the Cathedral and a bedroom that looked ont...

My wife and I stayed at Le Parvis on the first night of our motorcycle touring holiday in France during August 2012. The hotel is perfectly situated directly opposite the cathedral in the centre of Chartres. A perfect little hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was super. We had the Henry IV room, a generous size, very comfortable and with a view of the Cathedral. The old cellars make for a super atmosphere to enjoy a quiet drink or one of the well-attended live Jazz nights. There is no parking but the hotel offers a free pass to guests to use a secure underground car park within easy walking distance. We will be putting Le Parvis on our list of favourite stops in France and hope to visit again sometime.

Literally booked on iphone from the train station....awesome little place, very fun room - large- round bed (the penelope room) open the 'secret door' and you're at the steps of the cathedral. Room is funky mix of mod and redone with blk/gray/silver scheme and the round bed makes is just more fun. Excellent location, staff more than friendly- perfect place to be in the city and see the sights...bed comfy, plenty of room...would highly recommend.

Room Tip: ask for cathedral view or Penelope room.

We stayed here for one night and were not disappointed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Parking in the area can be a challenge, but we were sent instructions from the hotel beforehand which made unloading our luggage really easy. They also provided a parking voucher to the nearby secure car park. The hotel is situated opposite the cathedral, which means fantastic views from some of the rooms. The rooms are huge, modern and clean and include mini bar. We had a tasty dinner in the restaurant which was reasonably priced, and breakfast the next morning (included in the cost of the room) was also good. Would highly recommend.
