I am not sure why I can't be a little more positive about Les Banquettes Rouge, but though the food was good it just didn't combine all of the parts together that make a great restaurant. I think that the problem is that its producing food that attempting to be different, when simple but great food would suit the atmosphere. Its a small, intimate and well positioned restaurant in the lovely old part of Blois. The staff are friendly enough, even if a little 'relaxed'. The food was tasty but in my opinion over worked. for example, making a puree of the vegetables on what is an already 'soft' dish just doesn't make sense. This is a nice place but they need to sort out a few issues, simply a few dishes and let the wonderful ingredients speak for themselves.

A fairly small restaurant, good value and great food. The menu attracted as, as well as the chalkboard in front which announced "come in, we even speak English!". They did not disappoint. A great place.

We had lunch at Les Banquettes Rouges and were very happy with both service and quality of the food. We hadn't reserved a table and the place was pretty full, but the very efficient lady in charge prepared us a table for 3 and we settled down to a delicious 3 course lunch for 17,50 Euros. Very impressed by the quality of the food and the care taken in its presentation; nice atmosphere too. Definitely recommend this place to anyone stopping in Blois for lunch!

Arrived at the restaurant at 7:50 pm for dinner, was no one inside, thought of leaving as I thought it is not a good restaurant (my normal judgement). Went in on insistence of my local colleague and I would not repent. Restaurant was full at 20:10 and we were lucking to have booked before. We chose a 3 course meal. I would rate the food highly in terms of quality, presentation and taste. Service was friendly. Only low point if I have to find would be that we were place just next to the door but apparently because all other place were booked before us. Overall one of the best eating experiences in Blois for me.

Very good and imaginative food at a reasonable price. The restaurant is intimate, the welcome is warm, the service is efficient. Good French cuisine!
