“Great location, wonderful hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2014 via mobile

This was one of the best hotels on our trip. We had a dinner and breakfast here that were magnificent. The people are kind and the rooms very nice. Even the third floor where we stayed was great. The room itself was comfortable and bathroom was modern yet homey.

Nice hotel. Very different from our American Standard but great just different. Do expect to be surprised. Room just big enough I got one at the garden. Really clean sort of small but at the European standard is average size. No ac but comfortable temp. Great service no question on that matter.
The hotel has this restaurant where dinner and breakfast were the best in the whole 7 days trip.
Look like the owner is at the front of it and you can notice it.
Will come back for sure now with family.

We really liked our stay at the Logis, the room was good in size, and very clean. The service excelent, the people very helpful, good english spoken.
I didn't see air conditioning, but as it was cold despite been spring almost summer, for us it made no diference, I don't know about hotter days.
The bed matress of awesome quality, the shower espetacular, great!
We got a room outside at ground level, so there were no stairs to climb.
We didn't have the breackfast, but nearby there is a boulangerie and a cafè, and they were very good.
It is across the bridge, really near the Amboise Castle, and the price is excelente.
All in all I strongly recomend it.

Room Tip: If you have lots of luggage ask for a room at ground level.

The hotel has everything essential. If you have a lot of luggage the room might seem small and the stairs narrow. We found everything we needed was provided. The location is convenient to the railroad station and to town.

The restaurant is first rate with a wide range of entrees, plats and killer desserts. Service is impeccable.

We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2014, and were happy that the hotel was literally 2 blocks from the Amboise train station, very convenient, and an easy and quick walk. If we'd stayed in the town center, it would have taken 15 more minutes or so to get there, and would have cost double (or more), so far as we could find. Walking to the town center from this hotel took only about 15 minutes or less depending on our pace, and was scenic crossing the bridge each day. There was a very good bakery on the corner down from the hotel (on the way to the bridge) which was where we saw many locals buying bread and pastries, as well as sandwiches.

The hotel itself was perfect for us. The staircase was winding and narrow, but was fine for us since we are fit (I don't think they have a elevator.) The room was clean with good bedding, towels, and so on, and beds were comfortable. We could open the windows for some cool evening breezes, and we never needed any heating or cooling because of the weather, so cannot comment about that. The room was incredibly quiet other than a small amount of street noise which quieted down late at night. Yes it is a small room, typical for France, and perfectly fine for us. The carpet may have been a little worn, the décor simple, but we didn't care at all, as it was cozy and comfortable. The service from the staff was excellent. We felt that it was a perfect choice for us, with excellent value. We'd definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed four nights at this lovely hotel. The room was cosy and decorated warmly. The bathroom was spacious and very nice, with cute touches around. It is located on the quieter side of town, which we found to be a pleasure...particularly with the unfamiliar driving! They also have off street parking for 3euros per night, which was much appreciated.
The staff we found to be very warm and friendly, and also extremely tolerant of our poor French...they all spoke English to varying degrees and were happy to help us with our endeavours! Isabell and Jerome were very obliging hosts.
The jewel in their crown though...is definitely their restaurant! Oh my...dinners there are a gastronomic heaven! We ended up eating in every night and shall remember every course we ate. Sublime..but a word of warning...book ahead as locals and outsiders already know of the divine experience to be had!
Only one thing slightly negative happened during our stay..and that involved tea. When the (cheap) and small plastic/paper cup left in our room "melted" under the heat from real boiling water, I was not allowed to have a couple more tea bags to replace the ones I had to toss out as the cup spread! I also asked if we might have crockery cups for our room, but was told "no" , they had to stay in the dining room. A shame, as it did slightly dampen our stay...and it was also a shame when they seemed so keen to please. We ended up going to Aldi which was around the corner and buying our own tea bags.
Would still definitely recommend if staying in Loire Valley.

Room Tip: Sorry, there is no fitness centre...but could not us select it!
