Staying in the lovely manor house was perfect for visiting the many castles/chateaux around the Loire Valley. Le Manoir St. Thomas was within walking distance of everything in Amboise and had secure parking that was definitely one of the reasons we chose it. Breakfast was very nice and the manor house is beautifully appointed- you feel as if you are in someone's very special home. The staff was excellent, helping us with both suggestions and reservations for restaurants, plugs for our computers, and our baggage. Our room had the most wonderful bathtub, with brand new fixtures. We loved it! Too bad the weather did not allow us to use the outdoor swimming pool.

Room Tip: We were on the higher floor, that had a sitting room with a couch. Very comfortable.

Stayed here 3 nights. Our room was on the top floor, which was a bit of a hike with the luggage. The room was clean and spacious. There was a complimentary bottle of liqueur. The bed looked unpromising, saggy in the middle, but turned out to be quite comfortable. Oddly, there was no headboard, which seemed unusual in a hotel of this character and price. The staff were super cordial and helpful, making dinner reservations for us and recommendations re: places to see. The room we were in had bad wifi access, so we had to go downstairs to get a signal. The living room of this building is very nice, and we spent time sitting there visiting, as well as on the patio. We did not use the pool, as it was chilly in June. Very nice bathroom. I would stay here again, but in a lower room.

Le Manoir St Thomas is centrally located for all of Amboise's attractions and is situated in a lovely old building with rooms full of character. Secure parking in the hotel grounds is a real bonus in a town where parking is tricky. It's a shame that the restaurant at the hotel no longer exists, especially when so much promotional material suggests it's still there. We didn't pay 17 Euros for breakfast...
The bathroom in our room was excellent with a free standing cast iron bath and large powerful shower with a selection of good products. The pool is also nice; the photos on the hotel website certainly make it look good.
A couple of minor points were that the mattress felt cheap and rather hard and the TV in the room didn't have all the channels it should have had. Overall, did the job pretty well.

Room Tip: Room 10 at the top of the house is big and spacious with a lovely bathroom.

Excellent location; we could walk to everything in Amboise. Rooms were cozy and clean with modern, updated bathroom. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Wellness package was a bit pricy but very enjoyable. Breakfast also very tasty but somewhat expensive (17e/person). Easy, convenient parking. Will stay again if ever in Amboise!

The medieval village of Amboise is charming and the manor lovingly restored is just a very pleasant place to stay.

On arrival we were greeted and welcomed, shown around and finally taken to our room. It was gracious, high ceilinged and functional. However if there is a problem for you in mounting stairs don't consider this hotel. We walked to the top of the building to get to our room and whilst we are not athletes we consider ourselves fit, but this was challenging after a busy day to go up and down three flights to get to the car.

The breakfast is well presented and all of the staff just about fall over backwards to help. Sadly they do not serve dinner but there are many and varied restaurants in close proximity and help is given for you to choose the sort of food that you fancy each night.

The area is absolutely packed with castles, gardens and places to go. Whilst we were there, there was a brass band competition final and the streets littered with bands, instruments, stages. and people in fun costumes. Music was everywhere, even in the markets were the meats, bread and cheeses were an eye opener.

A charming place to lay your head.

Room Tip: Please make sure that you let the staff know if you don't feel like climbing stairs, there are r...

We were driving with our two small dogs from the ferry terminal at Cherbourg to St Tropez area and needed a first night stop. We found Amboise to be very well situated on our route and chose the Manoir St Thomas as it welcomed dogs.
The hotel has been created from a beautiful 12th Century abbey - still full of character and period detail. Close to the chateau, the old town and main routes out of the town.

We found standards to be extremely high in all respects - comfort, cleanliness and the most delicious breakfast in a charming breakfast room. Several commentators have criticised the lack of a restaurant but many in close walking distance I didn't see that as a problem. Do be aware that many close on Monday!! So do what we didn't do - book dinner in advance.

The lady who carried out check out for us couldn't possibly have been more warm and charming and we have every intention of returning to the Manoir St T at the next convenient opportunity.

The staff was very helpful in dinner suggestions and very welcoming. The rooms were specious and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are a nice size. The house is hundred of years old but kept immaculate. There is free parking .It was a wonderful place to start our trip to France.
The town is great. We walked the small streets and found wonderful places to eat dinner and breakfast.
