We chose to stay here after checking reviews on TripAdvisor and we are very glad that we did so. Tim and Carolyn are very generous and accommodating hosts, this seems to rub off on the guests. When a group of Australians left a day ahead of my wife and I we had hugs and kisses all around. I wrote in the guestbook that the Loire Valley has a new chateau, Les Fleurons.

The rooms are very well equipped and pleasant, the views are awesome. The location is excellent and the hosts very pleasant and well informed. I enjoyed Tim's descriptions of his projects to renovate this property, he really has done very well.

We stayed 2 nights with Tim and Carolyn as part of our honeymoon. This was by far the best lodgings in France that we have ever stayed in (we go twice a year). The owners were really friendly and couldn't have done any more for us. The breakfast was exceptional, using lots of local and organic produce. We were impressed by the location and even though you are very close to the town centre, we were never bothered by street noise. Our room was modern and comfortable but in keeping with the style of the beautiful house. We would not hesitate to stay here again and hope to come back soon!

Nicest B and B we have ever stayed In..think of mini Ritz with breakfast included. Elegant room with a sumptuous bathtub, overlooking the Loire at the foot of the Chateau d'Amboise. Book well ahead, word getting around.

We stayed in the Gabeau Suite (suite facing Loire River with separate detached sitting room) for 3 nights in May as part of our honeymoon. There was an attached sitting area but it was inconvenient to walk out of the room into and open walkway (people who were in hallway could see you) to the other room).

The owners were very kind and friendly, the room was very spacious and clean and even had a balcony which we appreciated. It was in a great central location close to walking to the train if needed and just off the middle of town which is busier during the day.

The room itself was large and included a standing armoire for all of your items as well as a separate desk. There were numerous outlets in the room and the complimentary WI-Fi worked well. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was nice and included a heated towel rack.

The owners were quick to offer suggestions of where to visit and restaurants to eat dinner and happy to even make reservations. They were helpful in advance as we figured out how long we would stay in the area as well as make a great suggestion on the hot air balloon company to use. They were also very accommodating to taking our luggage early in the morning after we checked out of another B&B so that we could go off an explore for the day.

Although the B&B was wonderful and newly restored and charming, there are a few items that kind of got to us. There was not a min-bar in the room or even just a mini-fridge and we would be okay with this if there was an obvious community refrigerator to use but there was not. On the 2nd day we learned we could use "their" refrigerator but it was in their part of the B&B and not really "community". Given it's a B&B I would expect a place I could chill my French wine or pastries we picked up. Also, there was not a safe in the room and although we felt safe and secure there we really like to lock up our passports. Sometimes it's the guests that cannot be trusted, not the owners.

I found it was easiest to email the owners if I had a question. To most this would seem odd but there was not a special bell to get to them in the house like I have seen in other B&Bs and we did not want to bother them by just yelling out or something.

The breakfast was just average. The family style seating was okay but it felt like they were trying a bit too hard to be frugal in what they provided for breakfast. There was usually at least 1 croissant per person which is fine but there was not enough fruit for everyone and overall just not enough bread for everyone. Also, if everybody wanted a selection of their very tiny continental spread on a small table in the corner - there just was not enough to go around, period. You had to wait for coffee to be served which was usually fine but you had to wait for OJ too. They serve breakfast at 9am which in our eyes is too late. We are on vacation but off to explore Chateaus and it forces a late start which was annoying. They say they will accommodate an earlier breakfast but you feel obligated just to do the 9am. Also, both of them are very kind and friendly people but it got to the point where you felt like they were hovering at breakfast. Sometimes they would stay in there the whole time you were eating and it was just not comfortable for us.

I would recommend this B&B to anyone I knew visiting Amboise just because it is so quaint and charming but I would make them aware of the breakfast and how that all works.

Room Tip: Ask for Loire view. Gabeau Suite was large and spacious.

IF you plan to visit the Loire Valley, don't look any further than Le Fleurons. Located a short walk to town center and the Chateau, this treasure is an impeccably restored historic public library. Our room faced the river and is was amazingly well decorated and comfortably furnished. Our hosts, Carolyn and Tim were congenial and exceptionally knowledgeable. Both were eager to assist in any way possible. We stayed 4 nights and our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Breakfasts were more than adequate. A wonderful location to tour the many Chateaux
and historic buildings of the Loire Valley.

Room Tip: The river view is worth the minor street noises. The windows are very efficient and nosie damping...

This b&b definitely has a potential to become a 5, but right now it’s only a 4.5.
The b&b is a lovingly restored house dating back to the 17th century. There are a lot of beautiful details throughout. We stayed in a room overlooking the chateau and it was light and spacious with a big bathroom. However, we liked the room overlooking the Loire better. Not only does it have a view, but a fireplace.
The location is also great and there is plenty of parking on the street. The reason I didn’t give this place a 5 was a number of little things that were not perfect. For example, the hairdryer was tiny and there were no q-tips in the bathroom. Breakfast was basic, and that would be ok if they had better bread and a better bread selection. Also, the coffee was weak, orange juice arrived as an afterthought, and hot milk was skim or 1%. So this is still a very nice place to stay, but could be perfect if these details were better taken care of.

We stayed at Les Fleurons in May 2013 and spent 3 nights in a room overlooking the Loire River. This was my first time at a bed & breakfast and I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. This is a historic building in Amboise with a view of the river and the main castle in town. Tim and Carolyn, our hosts for the weekend, were very attentive to our needs. They greeted us when we arrived and answered all of our questions. They provided information on the sites (including wine tasting), the restaurants and even the local "happy hour" bar. I enjoyed the morning breakfasts and found the other guests to be enjoyable and interesting. One suggestion would be to provide for coffee or tea prior to the designated breakfast time. I felt that the price was reasonable and would highly recommend Les Fleurons.

Room Tip: There are only four units in this B&B. Request a room with the view of the Loire River.
