We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 8 & 3 years old girls) - booked the family/quadruple room with 1 queen size bed and a sofa bed for one night stay on our quick tour down the Loire Valley.

This hotel is a good base for driving around the Loire Valley, about in the middle of the famous chateaux Chenonceau, Villandry, Chambord etc. To drive to Chenonceaux is about 20 mins, to Chambord about 45 mins, to Tours about 55 mins. This hotel has a good view of the Amboise town as well - I'm attaching some photos for review. Since the hotel is further out, it is very quiet.

The room is spacious enough for us. One good thing about the sofa bed is during the day we converted it to a sofa and the kids have ample of space to play around in the room. The queen size bed & sofa bed are comfortable enough. The pillows are soft enough for a good night sleep. The carpet & furniture are clean and well maintained. Overall room condition is good and clean. Bathroom / toilet are clean and maintained well.

The buffet breakfast is very good - plenty of different selections of food. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant as we went to Amboise town for our meals. It's good to have your own transportation, if not it'll be quite a long walk to get to Amboise town. Amboise is a charming little town - we enjoyed walking around viewing the nice buildings and chateau.

The hotel staff is very friendly and the key personnel speaks English fluently. We have no issue with communication.

They have a very nice swimming pool. There's also a mini-golf (put-put) course in the hotel compound. The kids definitely will love this.

We only spent 2 days in Loire Valley. We were thinking of going for a ballon tour, unfortunately the ballon operator wouldn't allow our 3 years old to go along. So, we will definitely come back in the future once she's reached the minimum age for the ballon ride...and, we will be staying here again. This hotel is a good value for money - we paid EUR170 for the family room which includes breakfast for everybody.

Room Tip: request for higher rooms with the Amboise town and chataeu view.

Its a mile or so out of Amboise, but nice location on the hill above the town and consequently quiet. Good sized rooms, clean with aircon if needed. Excellent and generous buffet breakfast - continental style or cooked breakfast. Nice pool. The 'superior' rooms seemed the same as the basic ones, but located on the pool side. Its a chain hotel with modern rooms, but had a very pleasant stay, definitely would use it again. Easy access to a number of the Chateaux. Helpful staff with good English.

Stayed overnight with family on way to north of France. The Hotel has a great, quiet location with view to the Chateau d'Amboise. Great facilities and the standard size Novotel family rooms. Excellent convertible sofa to make up 2 surprisingly comfortable extra beds. Good service both for dinner and breakfast. Excellent choice for the latter, a bit limited for the former. Good wine list with 'local touch' - reasonably priced. Overall good value and we would definitely stay again. With a good size outdoor pool, tennis courts and a mini golf course, the children are well taken care of.

Room Tip: We had a family room at ground level facing the garden and it was very quiet.

We would recommend this hotel for a family visit. While it is not in walking distance of the town centre for evening meals and shops, it has a perfect view of the town and castle which is easily reached by car. There is free car parking a few minutes walk from the lively town centre where we wandered each evening before choosing our restaurant for an evening meal.

The hotel facilities are comfortable, clean and well tended. We had wanted to stay in an authentic local hotel but when we saw the small hotels in the town centre we knew that we had made the right choice. The pool was great with gorgeous views from the infinity pool side.

The breakfast was more than ample with excellent choice. We were very pleased we paid extra for breakfast each day as it set us up for our long days out!

Chenonceau castle is less than half an hour drive away and, in the opinion of our family, is a must. Quite lovely with beautiful gardens.

Room Tip: Worth paying for superior as these overlooked pool or valley views, rather than car park
