We stayed for two nights in this lovely B&B in Amboise. Mme Sylvie is the perfect hostess. She went out of her way to look after us, made restaurant reservations and helped us with information about Amboise and the chateaus of the Loire. Our room was a the rear of the property separate from the main house and overlooking the swimming pool. It was spacious and beautifully appointed with a lovely shower room. Breakfast was excellent with a nice selection of cereal, pastries, bread, cold meats and cheese. The boiled eggs were perfect! There is good secure undercover parking at the back of the property. The B&B is very central and only a couple of minutes walk from the chateau, shops and restaurants. It is also very quiet. We think it is an excellent place to stay.

I spent 4 nights in early September at this B&B, in the aptly named, "cosy" room. For a solo traveler the room was large enough, and very comfortable. The morning breakfasts were very good. Breads, meats, fruit, cheese, and a soft-boiled egg were quite a treat. As Rick Steves suggests, Amboise is centrally located for visits to the chateaux between Tours and Blois.

Madame Sylvie was a friendly hostess, ready with suggestions for chateau visits and places for dinner. One of my better meals in France was at her suggestion in "Le Patio."

Parking is in an enclosed, and locked car park that which has direct (but locked) access to the B&B.

Good location within Amboise (quiet, yet within walking distance of sites/shops/restaurants). Charming building. Comfortable rooms. Pleasant garden. Very attentive host with excellent suggestions for regional site visits and restaurants (my mom never took such good care of me). Couldn't have hoped for anything more (okay, it rained). Amboise was a great launching point for daily trips around the Loire Valley. It's a pretty town with nice amenities (shops/restaurants) and is close to many of the best chateaux in the region.

A small jewel glittering amongst historic surroundings.Mme.Viard, the owner greets you with charm, and wastes no time in giving you all the infromation you are likely to need.If you have a car, she personally accompanies you to the private car park, secure, at the back.Attention to detail is the order of the day, and nothing escapes from her eagle eye.The breakfasts are served in a beautiful Chateau like room, overlooking the charming garden, which also has a pool.Great for those hot Summer days.I chose the 'cosy single room' which represents excellent value for money for the single traveller.I wanted to lift the bed and take it home with me, so comfortable was it.I am a seasoned traveller, and not easily pleased, but I recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

Room Tip: There are, I believe four rooms. The doubles are a very good size, and there is also a separate room...

We booked a room away from the main house right by the pool. The room was large, charming, and very clean. Quiet location, but walkable location to the Chateau and train station. Amazing breakfast that is already included in the price of your stay. Sylvia is a great host and made our stay very pleasant. Amboise is a charming town and the town/B&B was definitely the favorite part of our vacation.

We were in a building separate to the main house so it was really quiet. The room was finished to a very high standard, great little touches. Madam Sylvia was a delight. Breakfast was excellent, great bread, ham cheese etc. Joy. This place may be at the top of your budget but I would recommend that you spoil yourself. Highly recommend the location. There is ample parking on site and it is secure.

Room Tip: If you like quiet ask for the rooms at the back of the pool.

I was somewhat skeptical about only "Excellent" (august 2013) reviews. After staying there for two days, I highly recommend the place to anybody planning to stay in Amboise. Read the previous reviews, they adequately describe the property.
I stayed in "cozy single" room on the second floor. My only problem was figuring how to use the jet shower :) The breakfast was good, the service was excellent, the garden was welcoming, the pool was warm. The place had less than ten guests.
The host (Madam Sylvia) provided me great advice about local sightseeing. I would gladly return to Au Charme Rabelaisien.
