“Bistrot Republique: Authentic Burgundy(Dijon to be precise) bistro w/traditional dishes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2011

We selected the restaurant based on proximity to the hotel and prior reviews. Due to construction at Pl de la Republique, a bit difficult to locate, and it should be noted it has been renamed to Bistrot Republique. Excellent oeufs meurettes and light salad w/fig pastry for a late balmy August evening dinner. The fish was also nicely prepared and dishes could be paired nicely with Burgunfy classic wines or other reasonably prices wines from Italy or other French regions. A perfect dinner!

“The best dining experience we had in Europe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2008

On the last night of our European trip we dined at this restaurant. I noticed it was packed at lunch time so thought it would be a good bet.

The service and food was outstanding, 5 star quality without the 5 star price.

I can speak a decent amount of French but am challenged when it comes to French menus (even at home), the waitress was great at navigating me through the menu and making suggestions.

Their beverage list was amazing and the wine of the month was quality.

For entree we shared their version of salmon tartare and blenis. Mains were: Poelee de sot-l'y-laisse et St Jacques (risotto au pistou, reduction de Modene) - 14.60 euro and Filet de dorade grille - 13.80 euro and for dessert profiteroles - 6 euros.

The risotto was super amazing and so was the salmon entree.

I noticed when we ordered wine with the waitress the bartender was onto it before she even conveyed our order, these people are on the ball.

This restaurant was a highlight of our trip.
