Even though I'm not a big mustard fan, it was fascinating to see all the different flavours of mustard in the multi-coloured displays. Maille branded mustard can be found in most supermarkets back home, but only the standard kind - the choice was overwhelming! On the far side of the shop is a little tasting bar - I ended up buying 2 small pots of celeriac/truffles and Chablis/mushrooms flavoured mustard - now I have to figure out how I can use them!

It was very busy in here, and the shop isn't that large inside - so beware of crowds!

There are only two Maille boutiques in France, and this is where one comes to sample the latest products introduced by the company.

Who knew mustard could come in so many flavours? Since it is difficult, if not impossible to find the entire variety of flavours in most other cities, let alone countries in the world, it would be foolish to pass the boutique by without stopping in for a visit. The staff are friendly and make a great effort to communicate with tourists, and they even do free gift packaging. Tell them that you need to carry your purchases overseas and they will wrap them very well.

My friend amused himself with the mustard on tap (specifically he wondered if one could drink mustard like beer). The shop also sells other regional specialties like crème de cassis. Visit Dijon with an empty suitcase, you will fill it faster than you think at Maille.
