The Musée de la Vie Bourguignonne shows the fascinating story of life in Bourgogne through the ages. It's a very unusual type of museum and I think well worth a visit when in the area.

It is like a romantic view of French life in 19th century. I especially liked the stores: photo shop, pharmacy, hair salon, toy section, etc.

Not crowded, so we enjoyed a leisurely self guided tour through the museum. Lots of displays and information.

A totally different kind of museum. This shows the different quality of life of the local Burgandy people. Almost the entire museum was set up with manaquins dressed in period clothing. The upstairs had entire stores stocked and filled with period items. It was a pleasant experience for those who cannot read French. Yet, you could learn and appreciate this old way of life of these regional people. It's tucked away in a courtyard building with other museums. Just pick the correct door. By the way, it was FREE! What a super value on a cold day. We had seen many things in the city previously and this was something we chose to do and glad we did. Go appreciate this little museum!

We did the Musée des beaux Arts in the morning and went here after lunch. There is a booklet in English at the entrance which helps you navigate the exhibits. It's very visual and our daughter really enjoyed it also.
