“Good value if you have a family”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

I stayed with my twins of 15. We had a large room with a bathroom and a shower room. It had five beds and a kitchenette so I thought it was good for a family. The location is great right in the centre. It is however a bit scruffy and in need of a makeover.

We stayed at the City Loft in Dijon based on the location and reviews. We booked the family suite. It was all one room with kitchen facilities. Dark, but spacious. Staff were friendly and overal a good stay. Bathroom maintenance was an issue. The toilet was off the base and on request a man came and tried to fix the screws, but it was still not fixed to the floor. Tiles were broken in the bathroom and very dangerous to the feet. If you are ok with some issues this is a great location.

If you're looking for a place to stay to explore Dijon this is a great option!!

We booked this hotel after arriving in Dijon and trying to find a decent place to stay in the city center that wouldn't break the bank.

After pricing out a few options we made the choice to stay here mainly for the price and the location, but we ended up with so much more. The room was spacious with two showers (one shower one bath/shower), a double bed, and two single beds. The room also had a small kitchenette with cooktop, microwave, fridge, and pots/pans. Perfect if you're looking to reduce costs by doing some cooking on your own.

The beds were very comfortable and while the rooms comforters and carpet were a little beat up, it was a great place to stay.

My only ding on the place was the breakfast. Save your 6€ and go somewhere else. They had coffee, juice, yogurt, and some pastries. While you think 6€ is cheap, you really don't get anything either.

This reason for choosing this hotel was because it was central. The location is great - right in the heart of the city. Parking was easy to find at a municipal underground car park and the parking was very reasonable too.

The rooms themselves are very tired, although thoroughly cleaned.

If all you want is something simple in the city then this would be fine but don't expect too much.

we booked this hotel based on price and location. Hotel was easy to find, located in the city centre. up on arrival, the hotel has a very small entrance with a parking to fit max 3 cars.

the check in was fast but there is no one to help us with our bags, in our case we needed some help because we had an 8 month baby.

once we got to the room, then all changed as we find it very basic and not warm at all. the room we got had twin beds while we requested a double bed. so i went to the reception to change the room for us but that was not possible, which we understood and then we asked if they can send someone to connect the twin bed and make it a double bed, and the answer was there is no one to do this. after insisting, they send a stagiere to do it which was ok.

overall, location good, room not good, but clean, sevice is mediocre. will not go back

We booked a room for one night here based on price (it being affordable, etc.) and we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel staff was extremely helpful and let me speak with them in French (whereas in other places, they detected my accent and switched to English right away). The hotel is in the medieval part of town and is hard to get to by car. They have a few parking spots available, but in our Mustang, we wouldn't have fit through the arches to get into their tiny lot. We parked safely around the corner in a garage. Our room was HUGE with a balcony that looked down over the town and had a fridge and stove. I almost wish that we'd stayed longer so we could have picked up groceries and cooked in a few times! Great spot to stay!

The location is in the centre of medieval Dijon. The service was first class with all requests (eg. wine glasses for our the room) cheerfully met. Car parking is available but book ahead as only a few cars will fit in. The lifts and apartments are modern and the building has been tastefully renovated. This is a great location, near the markets (a fabulous selection of all types of fresh food), shops, cafes etc. Make sure you visit the Musee des Beaux Arts and the Musee de Rude (an old church with incredible sculptures), near Notre Dame Cathedral. Dijon is more than just excellent mustard.

Room Tip: Book a room for 3 people even if there are only two. This gives extra space and we had a nice open-p...
