Owner description: This 22-stage trail is designed not only to give you a taste of Dijon's charm, but also to take you back in time and show you the history of our town. Each numbered stage takes in a place of interest, and the whole trail can be covered on foot in about one hour. If you feel like finding out more about Dijon, this trail proposes 3 different loops: the Rousseau loop, the Zola loop and the Moses loop. But there's no reason to hurry! Take your time and enjoy the friendly atmosphere in the many museums, galleries, shops and cafés terraces!

“Great for adults, too!”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

I loved our stay in Dijon! The owl's trail was a big part of it, as it gave us a good plan on how to travel through the city. It was just us 2 adults, but we had just as much fun as kids following the owls.

“AWESOME”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

You cannot go wrong. We had 2 kids with us and they just loved following the owl trail and hunting for owls - even in the rain and sleet our 6 year old and 4 year old had a blast. The walk is wonderful in any weather, you visit such marvelous landmarks.

“A great way to see the best of Dijon”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

This self-guided walking tour has been put together very well, and takes you through the best streets and highlights of Dijon. We spent a couple of hours meandering through the streets following "La Chouette", double the time recommended as we very thoroughly enjoying the walk. We took in so much local history along the way as well. I'd recommend this for people wanting to learn more about Dijon whilst seeing the highlights without having to join a larger tour. Very good value.

Every city should have one of these. We had so much fun looking for the owls sometimes we forgot to look at the landmark they were in front of. 4 eu for your guide - amazing value.

“Fun & Practical Path to See the Best of Dijon”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

The owl path is the best idea I’ve seen to accommodate tourists who are short on time to experience a city. Just find an owl placard on the ground, and follow where it points. No maps needed and no anxiety about getting lost! If you are traveling with kids, they will enjoy spotting the owls and following them to the next sight.

Dijon’s major sights are easily walked in 2 hours, and the owls make sure that you never get lost while exploring. I had only three hours’ train-stop in the city during my last visit, and I was so grateful to the owl for guiding me to all the destinations that I needed to see—so grateful, in fact, that I stopped by the Tourist Office to buy an inexpensive replica of the owl placard to take home with me. Great souvenir! (Just be sure to NOT put it in a carry-on when you return home on plane. Put it in checked luggage since the pointy end of the placard will set off security screening and your carry-on WILL BE SEARCHED).

TIP: Be sure to visit the city’s original owl, which the placard owls pay tribute to. He sits around six feet from the ground on one side of the Notre Dame Cathedral, which is conveniently located behind the Ducal Palaces in the heart of Dijon. It’s landmark #8 on the Owl Path. For good luck, rub the owl WITH YOUR LEFT HAND. Don’t forget! He will impart wisdom and a sharp sense of direction, so you’ll never get lost on your many future adventures!
