“Good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2014

Attractive, older and charming. The rooms were a good size, comfortable and interesting. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was adequate. There was only parking off-site and no elevator. This is not a complaint, merely an observation. It isn't the biggest or fanciest, but definitely charming. For the price and location, I would recommend it.

We stayed at this quaint little hotel at the beginning of a long European vacation. We really were just staying here as a cheap option between Zurich and Paris.
The hotel was somewhat tricky to find without GPS, but after a couple wrong turns, we figured it out. The lady at the front desk was terribly friendly.
We had to walk to the very top floor of the hotel which was fine by us, but we only had one large bag.
The room was a decent size for France. It was clean and we felt comfortable in it. The room has one sink and the shared bathroom was just next door to us and it was also very clean.
There was no air conditioning, but it was cool enough with the window open.
The biggest problem was the firecrackers that were set of during the night, but what else do you expect on Bastille Day?

Good location, room was basic with no aircon. Quiet but don't expect anything special. The rooms were clean and hot water reliable! Very well located! Not much else to add if you want a stopover this is fine.

This hotel has an excellent location a few metres from the cathedral and dukes palace and the rest of the historic centre. Our room was large with a good sized bathroom. We had asked for a quiet room and were given one overlooking a small inner courtyard but with a large window and shutters. Furnishing looked a little drab and tired but were perfectly adequate for our requirements. The staircase is not the easiest to navigate with large bags. Staff at reception ranged from very friendly and helpful to not appearing toknow too much about the area. This is a perfectly pleasant hotel at a reasonable price and its location makes it very worthy of consideration.

We had a great 2 night stay in Dijon.

The hotel had everything we needed.

On our first night we were eating our dinner in the downstairs dining area and the manager very kindly shared a number of bread rolls with us which was very nice.

While the hotel does not have a lift, the view from the top floor over the old town is very nice and there is a lot of eating options nearby to the hotel.

I would definitely stay again.

the hotel was about 10 to 15 minute walk from the train station but it is very simple straight down the main shopping mall.

The rooms are a little tired but perfectly adequate. The location is hard to beat for exploring the centre of Dijon and the breakfast was generous. Not all rooms are equal though. At first we were placed in a room at the back of the hotel and we complained when it became evident that music from an adjoining restaurant was audible. After a little discussion we were moved to a room at the front of the hotel. This was a much better room and didn't have a noise problem other than occasional late night street dwellers .

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are better and quieter.

I did the dumbest thing one can do when I moved on from Dijon: left our passports behind at the hotel. I realized this half an hour later on the train to Dole where we were to fly out on ryan air.
When I got to our next hotel I asked them if they could phone Jacquemart and tell them I would return by train the next day to pick up our passports. At the phone call's end I was told "no need, the manager will drive down tomorrow with them." That is what happened and they weren't looking for thanks in our urgent situation...just said that it was the best method to get them to me. "Thank YOU!"
As far as the hotel goes...it IS in a great location for exploring the old town, starting with the cathedral. But the next street over in the other direction..Rousseau..was the source of my wife's great delight when it was closed to traffic for a giant flea market. The same street is lively at night with some fun bars with music nearby. We were lucky to hear a fun duo at BamJam on the corner. If you like seafood you'll delight in Bout de la Rue up the street from the hotel where you can have more choices for mussel toppings than you can find for wings in North America. I had the delicious creamy curry and there were a ton of mussels in the dish. We'd asked for a first floor room due our luggage and that is what we got. Our room was not huge but we slept very well there. The staff was always pleasant and helpful even before rescuing my passport and helped with printing my boarding passes for our next flight. When we first arrived in Dijon we were tired and took a 10 euro cab from the train station. On leaving we took the 'tram' from the Place de la Republique, a 10 minute walk and 1.5 euro ticket back to the station. Handy also nearby: the main info centre, (near the famed 'gargoyle' church) where I booked a wine tour. There is the free 'tour bus' stop just in front of the church within sight of the tour info. Just beyond that is the big Place de la Liberte through the courtyard of the Beaux arts museum. The market, also in the vicinity, had a great exhibition outside one day with a plethora of area cheese producers giving samples. Yum.
This is not a big chain hotel with a big advertising budget, but they came through in a very BIG way for us in a time of need and I thank them again.
